FEMA Flood Maps

FEMA updated the flood maps in Westchester County to digital flood maps effective 9/28/07.  As part of the update new engineering studies were performed on some stream segments.  The FEMA mapped flood zones in the Village of Croton-on-Hudson are along the Croton and Hudson Rivers, and a smaller mapped flood zone around Kaplan's Pond and Bessemer Wetland.  Copies of the FEMA flood maps are available for viewing in the Engineer's Office and can also be viewed online along with other information on flooding. FEMA Flood Map

"FEMA issued Advisory Base Flood Elevation (ABFE) maps in February 2013  for the Hudson River shoreline of Westchester County, these ABFE maps show advisory flood elevations along the Hudson River that are higher than the current flood elevations on the effective 2007 Flood Insurance Rate Maps.  FEMA has advised that they are planning to revise the flood elevations along the Hudson River shoreline and that the new elevations may be close to the advisory elevations.  The regulatory update process may be completed by approximately the beginning of 2015.

Please note that other, more localized, areas of the Village may flood during severe storms however these were not significant enough to be included in the federal flood mapping program. Flood Elevation Maps
