Emergency Medical Services
Croton-on-Hudson's Emergency Medical Service is a volunteer organization, assisted by paid staffing that provides ambulance service to the Village of Croton-on-Hudson and Mt. Airy and Quaker Bridge Fire Protection Districts, in the Town of Cortlandt. Croton EMS responded to over 800 calls in 2018.
In 2008, Croton EMS separated from the Croton Fire Department. Croton EMS started with a core of 22 experienced members of the Croton Fire Department . One advantage of separating the EMS into its own department is that the Village of Croton-on-Hudson can now bill for medical services. This helps provide revenue for the village and helps cover the cost of paramedic service.
