Senasqua Tunnel

The Senasqua Tunnel was constructed in 1912. In the early 1960s when the Village began using Senasqua as a park, the tunnel was refurbished and became the main entrance to the facility. With the Brook Street Grade-Crossing Elimination project underway, the tunnel will become part of the Village's trail system and all motor vehicle traffic will be diverted over the existing Half Moon Bay bridge and newly constructed roadway from the bridge to the north. The view of the Senasqua Boat Basin framed by the walls of the tunnel is breath taking and will be enjoyed by pedestrians and bicyclists.

Construction of the Croton Beach Road allowed the tunnel to be transformed for pedestrians and bicyclists.
The tunnel was re-grading to alleviate dranage problems and opens directly onto the riverfront trail.
