Board of Assessment Review

The Board of Assessment Review hears grievances brought by property owners against assessments in the tentative assessment roll prepared by the Assessor, which is filed annually on the first of February. At the hearing, the Board receives information from both the property owners and the Assessor, who is required to attend all formal hearings of the Assessment Board. However, the Assessor does not attend the deliberations of the Board. After interviewing both parties, the Board may request the submission of additional data to make its final decision.

The Board of Assessment Review is comprised of the five elected members of the Board of Trustees.
