Croton-on-Hudson Hurricane Henri Advisory #2

All parks and recreation areas are closed tomorrow, August 22, due to the storm.

The Village of Croton-on-Hudson continues to monitor recently upgraded Hurricane Henri, which is expected to impact our region on Sunday. All residents are encouraged to review the information posted on the Village's hurricane preparedness webpage.

A tropical storm warning and a flood watch have been issued for Croton-on-Hudson. The current forecast calls for 30-40 MPH winds and 3 to 6 inches of rain beginning early Sunday morning and continuing through the evening.

I have closed all parks and recreation areas, including Echo Canoe Launch, Senasqua Park, Silver Lake, Mayo’s Landing, Croton Landing and Black Rock Park, as of 12:01 a.m. Sunday until noon Monday. DPW crews will assess all parks and facilities on Monday morning to ensure they are safe before reopening Monday afternoon.

Preparations for the storm should be finished today. Secure any loose objects outside so they do not blow away. Ensure your electronic devices are fully charged in the event you lose power. Should you lose power, please report the outage directly to Con Edison at 1-800-75-CONED.

Please follow the Village's social media accounts on FacebookTwitter & Instagram where updates will be posted, as well as through the village E-Alert system. Additionally, any emergency notifications will be sent via the Code Red system.
