Recyclopedia
What and Where Can I Recycle?
Introducing a new feature to help you find how to
Reuse and Recycle hundreds of items. We hope Recyclopedia will help you recycle more!
Leaves
Reduce/Reuse
Shredded leaves make excellent mulch and fertilizer for lawns and garden beds.
Recycle
Whenever possible, compost leaves, branches and other organic debris. If you have wooded property, organic debris will naturally decompose if raked or swept into the woods and left there. It will recycle needed nutrients back into the soil.
Leaves can be shredded with a lawnmower and left to fertilize your lawn. They will decompose over the winter.
For more information visit Leave Leaves Alone, created by Bedford 2030, at https://www.leaveleavesalone.org/
Disposal
Residents are strongly encouraged to keep leaves on their properties by composting.
