Seymour

Sergeant Seymour joined the Croton on Hudson Police Department in 2009, after having served in the Mount Vernon NY Police Department for two years.  He heard about an opening in the Croton Police department through a friend, investigated Croton, came for a visit, and immediately loved our small but friendly Village.  Having worked hard since his teen years, working two jobs at a time to put himself through college, he continues to invest his all in his job as a Croton Police Sergeant. A strong work ethic, and commitment to and love of Croton are a strong part of his character.  Along with his duties as a Patrol Sergeant, he is part of the Child Safety Seat installation program for the department.

Sergeant Seymour grew up in Westchester as the only boy in a family with several sisters and he fell naturally into the role of taking care of his sisters.  While he likes the camaraderie of working with other officers, it is the ability to help others that most appeals to him.  He appreciates the ability to make someone’s day a little better.  People usually need the police when something is wrong and he values being able to do all that he can to fix a situation.  He likes the community focused approach of the Croton Police Department, the variety of calls, always looking for a way to help in each situation, and always enjoying the one-on-one nature of community policing.  Getting to know the residents in a small village, getting to know families and watch children grow up is a part of his job he most enjoys.  He is truly happy to be a part of the Croton Police Department.

Sergeant Seymour is the first person in his family to become an officer. His family is supportive, and they are very proud of him.  In his off-duty time, he enjoys time with his family, fishing, golf, woodworking/carpentry, and fixing various things around his home.
