Sgt. Tramaglini

Sergeant Tramaglini joined the Croton on Hudson Police Department in 2009, after having served 18 months with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. Having grown up in Croton, the Croton Police Department is where he knew he wanted to be. His father was an officer before him with his father finishing out his career as Police Chief. His father was a positive influence on Anthony’s choice to become a Police Officer. He saw the beneficial impact his father had on his community and Anthony knew he wanted to be able to have such an impact too. Anthony enjoys the daily challenge of never knowing what he will be doing at work, but knowing he will be helping people, sometimes at the worst moment of their lives, sometimes at the best, and spending time out of the office, talking with residents.

Anthony likes that Croton is a smaller department, which gives officers the ability to get to know residents, and an opportunity to work in many different roles. Along with some patrol work, Anthony is assigned as the Administrative Sergeant and is tasked with the scheduling of officers, payroll, gathering needed paperwork and video for the “Discovery” phase of arrests and court proceedings, and working on the department budget. He attended college in New York state and received his bachelor’s degree in accounting. His degree has proven invaluable in his work on payroll and the budget. Along with budgeting, accounting honed his skills in attention to all details, small and large. An important skill in police work.

Anthony’s family is proud of him and supports his career. Outside of work, Anthony enjoys time with his family, exercising, and fishing. As a young boy, he learned to fish with his father on the Croton River, and he continues to enjoy fishing to relax and to spend time in nature.
