Officer Profile: P.O. Kevin Ward

Police Officer Kevin Ward

Police Officer Kevin Ward joined the Croton Police Department in 2016.  Kevin is a born and bred northern Westchester native who came to the village as a transfer from the City of Peekskill and following his graduation from the Westchester County Police Academy.  Prior to that Kevin was with the NYS Department of Corrections and Community Supervision ( DOCCS).

Another major community benefit is Officer Ward’s experience as a Certified First Responder. He spent almost a decade responding as an ambulance corps member. While all of Croton’s police officers have first aid skills we can be assured that Kevin has seen it all!

As a law enforcement professional, Officer Ward has focused on our younger community members. He runs what used to be called DARE in all three of our schools. While the formal DARE curriculum is no longer followed, Kevin has adopted a more locally focused approach which has yielded praise from the school district and parents alike. This approach has created a strong connection with our local students.  To see him in action is amazing, the kids just adore him.  He is a natural!

While not spending time with district children, Officer Ward is fully engaged with his own three children.  Whether it is ball games, dance recitals or family vacations Kevin is always on the go!
