Officer Profile: P.O. D. Rodriguez

PO D. Rodriguez

Officer Rodriguez joined the Croton on Hudson Police Department in 2019.  Prior to police work, Officer Rodriguez worked as a property manager.  While she enjoyed working in property management, the desire to be a police officer was stronger.  Having wished to be a police officer since she was a teenager, she jumped at the chance to take the test and become an officer when the opportunity became available.   She is very glad that she made the career change.

Officer Rodriguez grew up in Queens, New York, and was graduated from a State University of New York college, where she majored in Liberal Arts.  Her college courses gave her a wide-ranging background, preparing her for the daily and varying challenges of police work.  She is most fulfilled when she is helping someone, interacting with the public and developing relationships with Croton residents, business owners, and visitors, and engaging in friendly conversation. It is also important to her to help provide guidance and assistance during a time of stress in people’s lives.

While Officer Rodriguez’s family worries for her safety, they are extremely proud of her career.  In her off-duty time, she likes to spend time with her family and spend time outdoors, to include swimming and riding her bicycle.  She often finds herself reading a fiction novel, to unwind from the stress of a busy day at work.
