Officer Profile: Dispatcher Cari Daddio

Dispatcher Cari Daddio

Dispatcher Cari Daddio joined the Croton on Hudson Police Department in 2005, after having worked in the corporate world for several years and then taking a brief time off to raise her family.  She attended college in New York State and earned her bachelor’s degree in business management with a minor in political science.  She later earned an additional Paralegal degree.  During her college summers off, she worked in the Disney World college program, which consisted of a specialized program for select college students at the theme park. While not a formal degree, it is a fun point of pride to have a “Disney Ducktorate”, and many enjoy hearing of her time at Disney.  Working at Disney prepared Dispatcher Daddio well for her career in public service.

Dispatcher Daddio greatly enjoys serving the community, helping people, and she especially likes the ability to help senior citizens and children. She was always interested in a career in law enforcement and being a dispatcher fulfills that career goal while allowing her time with her family. During her career she has been trained as a member of the Westchester Putnam Peer Support Team, assisting first responders in other departments with the emotional and mental stress of their careers.  In January 2023, she was elected to the position of the President of the Westchester – Putnam Peer Support team. Dispatcher Daddio is also her Union’s shop Steward, a challenge she enjoys.  She was a founding member of the Croton on Hudson Police Department Youth Cadet Program.  Several of her former cadets have gotten in touch with after they became adults, and she loves to hear about their lives and how important the cadet program was to them.  Unfortunately, the cadet program was discontinued during the Covid-19 crisis and was also impacted by necessary budget cuts.  She hopes the program can be reintroduced, when possible.  She is often tasked with assisting the public as a Notary, a certification she has kept current, enjoying the ability to assist people with a much-needed service.   The relationships she has built at the Croton Police Department and throughout the County during various training and additional job responsibilities are a part of her job that brings her much joy.  Her career is extremely rewarding and one she takes great pride in.

During her time off duty, she enjoys time with her family, reading, time at the beach, and taking care of her rescued pets.
