A selection of incidents from the police blotter of the Croton-on-Hudson Police Department. Please note that the below information is public record and does not constitute all calls received by the department during the period.

Narrative: Caller requested EMS for her elderly father with general illness needing an ambulance. 60 Control dispatched Croton EMS. Patrols responded and reported that the aided male was transported to a local hospital.

Narrative: Caller reported that a vehicle with its headlights on has been parked in the parking lot for an extended time. Patrols responded and reported the occupant of vehicle checks out and resides at the location.

Call Type: Unwanted Party 
Narrative: Called reported that a Cortlandt resident is attempting to gain access to a building in order to secure property. Patrols interviewed business owner and he indicated no appointment was scheduled. Business owner permitted the unwanted party to retrieve a few items without incident.

Call Type: Lost Property 
Narrative: Male came into CPD Headquarters to report a lost phone. He stated he last had his phone between 10 and 11 p.m. last night at either the Half Moon Bay walking trail or Croton Gorge Park. Missing is an iPhone 11 in an orange-colored case with his driver's license inside the case and a Binghamton letter. Lost and found checked with negative results. NYS DMV form MV-78B completed for lost license.

Narrative: Unknown female caller reported there is a group of kids attempting to lock another kid inside a portable bathroom at Dobbs Park. Patrol responded and checked the area with negative results. The porta potty did not appear damaged or knocked over.

Narrative: Manager at CVS reported finding a lost wallet. Patrols responded and picked up the wallet and returned it to the owner, a resident on Mt. Green Road.

Call Type: Disabled Vehicle
Narrative: DPW staff called to report a disabled vehicle with its four way flashers on in an unsafe location on Route 129 and Quaker Bridge Road. Patrols responded and reported the vehicle involved is a black 2013 Honda Fit with a valid registration. Patrol requested a tow for the vehicle. Tow truck was notified and responded for the impound. The vehicle operator, a Village resident, was issued a summons for VTL 509-1, Unlicensed Operator.

Narrative: Patrol reported stopping a grey 2012 Toyota Sienna for a V&T traffic infraction on Route 129 and Wood Road. The operator had a valid driver's license, but the registration of the vehicle was suspended for insurance lapse. Luposello's Towing was notified and responded for the impound. Operator was issued two summons for VTL 512, Suspended Registration, and VTL 1180-b, Speeding. She was released on her own recognizance.

Narrative: A 911 call was received and a female resident stated she dialed accidentally. Patrol responded to confirm and spoke to the resident of Van Wyck Street, who had attempted to call her cell phone to find its location.

Narrative: Caller requested an ambulance for his father who is extremely dehydrated. Patrol dispatched to location. 60 Control notified and dispatched Croton EMS, who transported aided to the hospital.

Call Type: Suspicious Person
Narrative: Caller stated there is a Hispanic male wearing dark clothes and a dark face mask standing by the dumpsters acting suspicious. Caller does not recognize said male from the complex. Patrol sent to location to check. Patrols reported the person was lost and was looking for the Amberlands apartment complex. Patrol gave the person a ride to Amberlands complex.

Narrative: A 911 hang up call received from a Beekman Avenue address. Number on the PSAP screen was called back with no answer. Patrols dispatched to the residence and report the call was placed accidentally.

Location: Old Post Road South
Call Type: Parking Complaint
Narrative: Parking Enforcement Officer reported a gray 2009 Nissan Rogue parked on Old Post Road South with heavy front end damage. DMV check conducted via eJustice. The vehicle registration was suspended. Vehicle marked for 48 hour storage. Parking Enforcement Officer to follow up.

Narrative: Patrols reported investigating a 17-year-old operating a motor vehicle with only a permit. The driver was issued a ticket for Section 509-1, Unlicensed Operator. The parents were notified and responded to the scene. After further investigation, patrols issued a summons to the father of the youth for Section 509-4, Facilitating Unlicensed Operation.

Narrative: CET School staff requested a welfare check for a student who has not been attending classes. Patrols checked student's homes with negative results. Youth Detective contacted and is following up.

Narrative: Caller reporting a grey 2005 Toyota parked on the street since Sunday without moving. The caller does not recognize the vehicle. Patrols responded to the location and reported the listed vehicle is parked legally. Parking Enforcement Officer to follow up Thursday.

Call Type: Larceny 
Narrative: A 30-year-old female resident of Grand Street reported that her ex-boyfriend will not return her car. Complainant reports she has the title of a 2009 Honda Civic which she financed but her ex-boyfriend pays the loan on. She reported that she wants the vehicle returned or she will report it as being stolen being she has not possessed or used it since last spring. Patrols interviewed the boyfriend, who indicated he has been paying off the loan and that both parties had a verbal agreement to transfer title of the car once the loan was paid in full. Parties indicated they will try to handle matters and negotiate a deal on their own.

Narrative: Caller requested assistance with gaining entry into his locked minivan. Patrols responded and reported making entry into a 2008 Dodge Caravan without incident.

Narrative: Caller requested Croton EMS for his wife who is experiencing chest pains. 60 Control dispatched Croton EMS. Patrols and Croton EMS responded to the residence. Patrols reported the aided refused medical treatment.

Narrative: Caller requested an ambulance for her sister who is a cancer patient and is having severe stomach pains. 60 Control dispatched Croton EMS. Patrols and Croton EMS responded to residence. Patrols reported aided is being transported to the hospital.

Narrative: Alarm company reported a high water alarm at the Half Moon Bay Pump Station. DPW contacted and will respond to check the condition.

Narrative: Dig Safe requests notification for water condition. Croton Water Department toned out. Water department staff are aware and are responding directly to location.

Call Type: Fraudulent Activity
Narrative: A resident of Harrison Street reported that an unknown party accessed her bank account (where her unemployment checks are deposited) and withdrew $4,000 in early January. She has disputed the withdrawals with Key Bank and the account has since been closed. Blotter generated for reporting purposes.

Narrative: Patrols reported stopping a blue 2011 BMW i535 on Maple Street for speeding. eJUSTICE check revealed the vehicle registration to be a blue 2002 Volkswagen Passat with an expired registration and license plates surrendered. Patrols requested Nappy's tow service respond to impound the car.  The operator was issued three tickets for Section 1180-C, Speeding, Section 402-4, Improper License Plates, and Section 401-1A, Operating an Unregistered Vehicle.

Narrative: A truck driver reported pulling wires down in the area of 24 Palmer Avenue. Patrols responded to location and reported a 2017 Freightliner with out of state registration was involved. Cable wires torn down from a Palmer Avenue home. Optimum cable notified of condition. Owner of the residence was also on scene and advised to follow up with Optimum for service. Patrol assisted the driver navigate the vehicle out of the neighborhood.

Narrative: Village of Ossining Police called to report a third party reporting an elderly driver in a white sedan traveling northbound in the southbound lanes. Croton patrols responded and checked the highway with negative results.

Narrative: Village of Croton Justice Court forwarded an arrest warrant for a 40-year-old Ossining resident. Warrant is for Vehicle & Traffic Law charges of Section 511-2A4, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, Section 509-1, Unlicensed Operation, and Section 1172-A, Failure to Stop for a Stop Sign. Warrant entered into eJustice and department computer system and filed.

Narrative: Caller reported the water pipe out front is leaking and hissing. The Water Department was contacted and will respond to the location.

Narrative: 60 Control dispatched the fire department to Crest Street on a report of a natural gas odor inside and outside the house. Patrols also responded to location. Con Edison gas utility responding with a delay. Croton Fire and Con Edison handling the scene.

Call Type: Suspicious Incident
Narrative: Caller reported noticing the lights on in his truck in his driveway. He went outside and saw a person come out of his truck and run towards the street. Person was described as being 5'0" to 5'2". When the caller ran up the street, he saw the person run up Harrison Street towards the park. He also saw two other individuals run down Harrison Street towards Sunset Trail. These individuals had on hooded sweatshirts. No other descriptions given. Patrol canvassed the area and could not locate the individuals. Caller stated a bag of M&M's and approximately $8 are missing.

Narrative: Caller requested Croton EMS for a 35-year-old male employee with abdominal pain. 60 Control dispatched Croton EMS. Patrols responded to the location in Van Wyck Plaza. Patrols report the aided refused medical attention.

Call Type: Suspicious Incident
Narrative: Caller reported that he thinks someone rummaged through his unlocked car this morning. Caller stated he left for work a little after 6 a.m. and found his glove box open and property found inside the vehicle does not belong to him or his wife. Caller stated he did notice a Hispanic male standing on the corner near his home when he left for work. Patrols responded and recovered the item inside the car, and logged the property at headquarters.

Narrative: Caller reports his Trump sign was damaged at 5:17 p.m. today by three teenage girls. Caller indicated he is unable to complete paperwork at this time but will come to police headquarters on Saturday to follow up. Caller also reported having surveillance of the three suspects and preserved the video.

Narrative: Caller reported hearing parties down on Truesdale Drive arguing. Patrols responded to check the area. Patrols report the area is clear and subjects gone upon patrols arrival.

Call Type: Violation of Order of Protection
Narrative: Complainant reported that a 34-year-old male acquaintance has been sending her Facebook friend requests in violation of an order of protection (OP). There is an OP that says the male subject cannot contact the complainant. The complainant showed several friend requests that she screenshotted over the past several months. Complainant filed a supporting deposition and copy of OP obtained. Patrols filing a case report and will follow up.

Call Type: Motor Vehicle Accident
Narrative: Caller reported a two-car motor vehicle accident on the highway. Patrol dispatched and requested an ambulance. Two tow companies were requested for the vehicles involved. Hudson View Towing and Nappy's Tow Service towed the vehicles involved. All occupants refused further medical assistance. Patrols to file a MV104 accident report.

Narrative: 60 Control dispatched Croton EMS for a medical alert activation. Patrol dispatched to residence. Croton EMS confirmed it was an accidental activation. No assistance needed.

Narrative: 60 Control dispatched Croton EMS to the Holy Name of Mary Church for a report of a female having passed out. Patrols and Croton EMS responded to the location. Patrols reported the aided involved refused further medical attention.
