A selection of incidents from the police blotter of the Croton-on-Hudson Police Department. Please note that the below information is public record and does not constitute all calls received by the department during the period.

Narrative: Patrol responded to a location on Elm Street for a noise complaint of loud music. The Croton resident complied and lowered the music.

Location: Cleveland Drive 
Call Type: Welfare Check
Narrative: Patrol responded to an area on Cleveland Drive and the surrounding areas for a welfare check on a party who is homeless and living out of a vehicle. Patrols were unable to locate the individual, who is not a Croton resident but known to the Croton PD.

Narrative: Patrol received a report from a Croton resident who reported being yelled at for not wearing a face mask by a female while running on the walkway from Half Moon Bay to Croton Landing.

Location: Prickly Pear Hill Road
Call Type: Alarm - Residential
Narrative: Patrol and Croton FD responded to the area of Prickly Pear Hill Road for a residential fire alarm with smoke inside the residence. Smoke was coming from the fireplace. Croton FD handled the scene.

Call Type: Suspicious Person/Welfare Check 
Narrative: Patrol responded to a commercial establishment on Old Post Road South for a suspicious person walking inside and outside of the business. Patrol located the party who stated he was homeless and refused assistance.

Call Type: Verbal Dispute 
Narrative: An Ossining resident called to report that while walking on the Route 9 pedestrian pathway, another Ossining resident began to yell at them for not wearing a mask and the two exchanged words. Caller just wanted the incident documented at this time.

Call Type: Motor Vehicle Accident/Arrest  
Narrative: Patrol responded to the area of Maple Street for a two-car motor vehicle accident. The vehicle was towed and a report filed. Patrols placed one of the vehicle operators, a 57-year-old Croton resident, under arrest for the charges of Aggravated Unlicensed Operator and Driving While Intoxicated. He was released on his own recognizance.

Narrative: Patrols responded to the area of Van Wyck Street for a construction vehicle idling. Upon arrival, officers did not observe the offense, but warned and admonished the contractor personnel.

Narrative: Croton EMS was dispatched to a commercial establishment on Albany Post Road for a Croton resident needing medical assistance. Party was transported to the hospital.

Narrative: Patrol responded to the area of Park Trail for a Croton resident who dialed 911 and hung up. Patrol reported the person had accidentally dialed.

Location: Hastings Avenue at Benedict Blvd.
Call Type: Criminal Tampering 
Narrative: Patrol responded to the area of Hastings Avenue near Benedict Blvd. for a Croton resident who reported that their vehicle had been tampered with on more then one occasion while parked unoccupied. The PD is continuing to investigate the matter.

Call Type: Warrant Arrest 
Narrative: Patrol took a 23-year-old Sparrow Bush, New York, resident into custody on an active Bench Warrant from the Village of Croton Justice Court on a VTL charge of Aggravated Unlicensed Operator. He was released on his own recognizance.

Narrative: Patrol responded to a location on South Riverside Avenue to assist a Croton resident who had locked their keys inside the vehicle. Entry was gained without incident.

Narrative: Patrol responded to the area of Mount Airy Road for a 78-year-old Croton resident needing medical assistance. Croton EMS transported the individual to the hospital.

Call Type: Parking Complaint 
Narrative: Patrols responded with parking enforcement to the area of Brook Street for a parking complaint. A summons was issued to the vehicle.

Narrative: Party turned in property found on the street. The owner, a Croton resident, was contacted and retrieved the property.

Narrative: Patrol responded to the area of Nordica Drive for a resident needing medical assistance. Croton EMS responded to assist and the party refused any further medical assistance.

Call Type: Domestic Incident 
Narrative: Patrol responded to a residence on Truesdale Drive for a domestic dispute between two parties. The parties were interviewed and a report will be filed.

Location: Half Moon Bay Drive

Narrative: Patrol responded to the area of Half Moon Bay Drive after a Cortlandt resident had not spoken to her friend, a Croton resident, for several days. After an investigation, the Croton PD unfortunately found the Croton resident had passed away a few days earlier.

Narrative: Patrol received a 911 hang up call from a commercial establishment on Albany Post Road. Contact was made with personnel at the location who advised they had no issue requiring the police.

Narrative: Patrol responded to Veterans Plaza to assist a Fishkill resident who had locked their keys inside the vehicle. Entry was gained without incident.

Narrative: Patrol responded to an area on Grand Street for a parking complaint. A summons was issued and the owner was notified to move the vehicle.

Narrative: Croton PD was notified by a Croton resident that at various times of the day a bright green Dodge Charger with loud exhaust and unknown plate travels in both directions on North Riverside Avenue at what is believed to be high speeds. Caller stated it is usually twice a day. When going northbound up the hill near Prospect Place, the vehicle accelerates and the muffler gets obnoxiously louder. Patrols were notified.

Narrative: Patrol responded to the area of Harrison Street for a neighbor's dog barking outside for hours. The condition was corrected by the patrol unit.

Narrative: Patrol responded to Veterans Plaza for a 65-year-old party needing medical assistance. Croton EMS transported the individual to the hospital.

Narrative: Detective Division placed a 68-year-old Croton resident under arrest for Criminal Mischief in the 4th Degree and Trespassing. She was released on her own recognizance.

Narrative: Croton EMS was dispatched to a commercial establishment on Albany Post Road for a Croton resident needing medical assistance. Party was transported to the hospital.

Narrative: Patrol responded to a commercial location on South Riverside Avenue to assist an Ossining resident who had locked their keys inside the vehicle. Entry was gained without incident.

Narrative: Patrol responded to an area on Route 9 North for a report of an erratic vehicle passing Croton Point Ave (speeding, passing other vehicles).  Area was canvassed and the vehicle was not located.

Call Type: Assist Other Agency 
Narrative: Patrols responded to Veterans Plaza to canvass for a subject wanted by the Ossining PD for a domestic incident. The subject fled Ossining PD and may be attempting to get on the train. Patrol canvassed the area with negative results. Ossining PD eventually located the subject.

Call Type: Fraudulent Activities 
Narrative: The Croton PD was notified by a resident that she had received an email from what she thought was PayPal advising her of a charge for $498.95. She called the number that was on the email (888-961-4988) which someone said was Morning Star. She knew it was a scam and has not had a financial loss at this time. She does have a PayPal account and the email had today's date with a transaction number to Trycome Exchange. Caller just wanted the incident documented.

Narrative: Patrol responded to the area of Grand Street for a report of a parking complaint. A summons was issued and the owner was notified to move the vehicle.

Narrative: Patrol responded to a commercial location on Croton Point Avenue for a 40-year-old Brooklyn resident needing medical assistance. Croton EMS responded and the party was transported to the hospital.

Narrative: Patrol responded to a commercial area on Maple Street for a report of a male soliciting patrons for money outside. Patrols located the individual, who was warned and admonished.

Narrative: Patrol responded to a commercial establishment on South Riverside Avenue for a report of an employee not wearing a mask. Patrol did not observe anyone without a mask on. The establishment was warned and admonished.

Call Type: Suspicious Incident/Welfare Check
Narrative: Patrol responded to a commercial establishment on Maple Street after an unknown caller reported receiving a call from a local bank stating the establishment was closed. Caller was concerned because the bank did not notify the Croton Police nor the Village Office of such closure. Patrol responded and reported the bank was open and all appeared in order.

Narrative: Patrol assisted a party on Young Avenue with a custody exchange that normally happens at the Croton PD. CPD contacted the other party and facilitated the exchange successfully.

Call Type: Motor Vehicle Accident 
Narrative: Patrols responded to the area of Albany Post Road for a one-car motor vehicle accident. There were no reported injuries and a report to be filed.

Narrative: Patrol canvassed the Village after receiving a 911 call from an unknown party indicating her boyfriend's brother was following them around in a green Dodge Charger for unknown reasons. Patrol canvassed the Village (the location was not provided by the caller) and was unable to locate the individual.

Narrative: Patrol responded to a commercial burglar alarm on Quaker Bridge Road. Location was checked and no signs of entry on the ground level.

Narrative: Caller, a Massachusetts resident, reported a parking complaint for a vehicle that may be parked on an area of Maple Street. Patrol canvassed the area with negative results and the caller was advised that vehicle ownership issues are a civil matter.

Narrative: Patrol responded to the area of Truesdale Drive for a computer-related crime. A report was completed and an investigation is ongoing.

Narrative: Patrol responded to the area of Benedict Blvd. for a welfare check on a juvenile party. Patrols spoke with a family member who refused to have medical assistance.

Narrative: Patrol responded to a residence on Brook Street for a domestic dispute between two parties. The parties were interviewed and a report will be filed.

Narrative: Patrol responded to a residential burglar alarm on Old Post Road North. Location was checked and no signs of entry on the ground level.  Alarm company had cancelled PD response.

Narrative: Patrol responded to a location on Melrose Avenue for a 911 hang up. Contact was made with resident at the location who advised they had no issues needing a police response.

Narrative: Patrol units and Croton EMS responded to the area of Sunset Drive for a medical alert alarm. Contact was made with the resident who had fallen but was able to get up. Further medical assistance was refused by the resident.

Narrative: Patrols responded to a commercial area on Maple Street for a report of a group of juveniles racing shopping carts and not wearing face masks. Patrol canvassed the area with negative findings.

Call Type: Welfare Check/Motor Vehicle Accident/Arrest 
Narrative: Patrols responded to a commercial establishment on Croton Point Avenue for an Assault complaint. After further investigation, it was determined that the incident started with a motor vehicle accident in Ossining. The investigation into the assault allegation is still ongoing. Patrols placed a 39-year-old Ossining resident under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated. He was released on his own recognizance.
