Police Sergeant Appointed by Village Board

Congratulations to Croton's newest Police Sergeant, Corey Velardo! Sgt. Velardo, whose promotion was effective August 13th, has been with the department for almost 11 years. He was hired as a Police Officer by the Village on October 7, 2008, as a transfer from the New York City Police Department.
In addition to his new assignment as a Patrol Sergeant, Sgt. Velardo will be assigned additional collateral duties. He is filling the vacancy created this past July, when Sergeant David Wingfield retired.
Sgt. Velardo grew up in Croton-on-Hudson. Chief Harper is confident that he will be tremendous addition to the department as a Patrol Supervisor.
