WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY - Sergeant Leonard and Police Officer Pece of the Croton-on-Hudson Police Department joined over 300 first responders from 150 departments across Westchester County on Tuesday, December 20th, 2022 to participate in this year's "Operation Blue Santa, Good Night Lights".

The goal of this annual event is to light up the night in the evening to bring cheer to those who are hospitalized during the holiday season. Police, Fire, and EMS Departments from across Westchester County came together in a parade of decorated emergency vehicles to surprise and delight children, families, and caregivers at Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital and Westchester Medical Center. Many departments, including the Croton-on-Hudson Police Department, outfitted their vehicles with special holiday lights and decorations. The parade took officers throughout the campus and ended in front of the Children's Hospital, where the vehicles lined up so that the children could see their lights and hear the sirens from their windows. Officers and patients had glow sticks to wave at each other and spread the holiday cheer. It was a special moment for the children, their families, and the first responders in attendance.

The Croton-on-Hudson Police Department sends best wishes to all for a safe and joyous holiday season.
