Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update from the Police Department

Suspension of Non-Essential Programs
March 17, 2020

Message to All Village Residents:

Due to the State of Emergency and the ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, and in order to help provide safety to my Officers and the public, I have taken the following steps to help minimize exposure between Croton Police Officers and the public.

Until further notice I have suspended the following programs indefinitely:

  • Child Safety Seat Inspections
  • Croton Youth Cadet Program
  • DARE Program
  • Westchester County Youth Cadet Program
  • Prescription Drug Drop Off Box in Headquarters Lobby
  • Courtesy Civilian Fingerprinting
  • Coffee with a Cop
I ask that you call our direct phone line at 914-271-5177 and attempt to handle any business via phone. Please try your best not to visit our headquarters unless absolutely necessary. If an emergency exists, by all means call 911 or our direct line. Our Officers will be doing their best to maintain social distance (6 feet) unless the situation dictates differently.

When we have weathered this storm, it is my intent to resume the above programs and continue to improve our department while striving for positive interactions with our youth and residents.

Sincerely,

Chief Russel H. Harper
