snow storm
A winter storm warning has been issued for our area from 1:00 AM to 6:00 PM Tuesday, February 13th, 2024. 9 to 12 inches of snow accumulation is currently in the forecast for our area.

Metro-North Railroad is running a modified schedule tomorrow, Tuesday, February 13th, with some changes to the morning and evening peak service. Customers are encouraged to check mta.info or the TrainTime app for more detailed information about these changes and any other possible weather-related service changes or delays.

While no flooding is currently forecast for our region, minor tidal flooding may occur during the storm. Commuters and permit holders may wish to avoid Section I and the portions of Section H closest to the river at the Croton-Harmon Train Station on Tuesday, February 13th, as these areas are prone to flooding during storm conditions. Please review our train station parking lot map to see other sections which are available for use.

Please follow the National Weather Service and Village Facebook/Instagram pages for any storm updates. Residents are also encouraged to subscribe to the "Snow Alerts" email list to receive notification of storm end times. As a reminder, Village snow regulations are implemented with snowfall of 2 inches or more.

In order to facilitate keeping our streets clear of snow and ice, no parking is allowed on any Village street when there is 2 or more inches of snow. Seasonal hardship permit holders shall move their vehicles no later than 12 hours after the snow stops.

For residents that have no viable off-street parking or seasonal hardship permit, the below Village municipal lots are available for parking during a snow event. Vehicles must be removed from these lots 12 hours after a snowfall ends:

  • Asbury Church Parking Lot (located off Old Post Road South)
  • South Harmon Parking Lot (located at the west end of Benedict Boulevard)
  • Wayne Street Parking Lot (located next to Harmon Firehouse)
  • Municipal Building Parking Lot (located on Van Wyck Street)
The following streets CANNOT be parked on during a snow event, even with a Seasonal Parking Permit:

  • North side of Grand Street between Old Post Road North and Riverside Avenue
  • Both sides of Croton Point Avenue
  • Both sides of Benedict Blvd.
  • Both sides of Maple Street
  • East side of Riverside Avenue between Brook St. and High St.
  • West side (High School side) of Old Post Road South between Maple St. and Cleveland Dr.
Please remember that it is the responsibility of the homeowner to clear the sidewalk in front of their homeThe Village thanks you in advance for clearing your sidewalk of snow and ice — doing so creates a safer environment for our pedestrians and especially children who walk to school. Sidewalks not cleared after the prescribed 12 hours will be cleared by the Village’s contractor. Property owners will be billed for this service. In addition, sidewalks adjoining commercial establishments and commercial parking lots shall be kept free of snow and ice at all times between the hours of 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM. When clearing sidewalks and driveways, do not shovel or blow the snow back on Village streets
