Update: Silver Lake, Black Rock and Mayo’s Landing Reopened, Flow Hazard Still in Effect

Croton River Dam

Silver Lake Park, Mayo's Landing, and Black Rock Park have now reopened following the NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP)'s initiation of the scheduled draw down at New Croton Reservoir. Echo Canoe Launch will remain closed until further notice. There will be still be significant increases in the flow of water into the Croton River, and members of the public should refrain from activities such as wade fishing and kayaking, as the fluctuating flow in the river could make them unsafe.

DEP initiated the increased release on September 6th and it is expected to continue until approximately September 27th. Thank you for your cooperation during this important process.
