Thanksgiving Message from the Mayor

Dear Neighbors:

Today is a time to reflect on our blessings and give thanks. The last two years have taken something from everyone, but have also reminded us of all of our blessings.

We owe a huge debt of gratitude to our essential workers: to the healthcare workers that have continued to care for us throughout the pandemic, to the transportation workers who show up every day so others can get to where they need to go and deliver vital goods, to every first responder, every sanitation worker, and every teacher.

It’s extraordinary how much has not been disrupted during the pandemic.  It’s inspiring how many everyday heroes worked to make it happen.

In addition to gratitude, family, and good food, this holiday is about giving back. Because of the pandemic, many are struggling with loss or economic hardship. If you are in a position to give to a local charity or food pantry, please consider donating to or volunteering for one of the service organizations on the “community links” page of our Village website.

Very truly yours,

Brian Pugh, Mayor
