REMINDER: ADU Amnesty Period Ends Today, April 12

The Village Board has temporarily waived penalties for existing construction undertaken without an Accessory Apartment Permit for the period of January 11, 2024, through April 12, 2024. As the amnesty period draws to a close, it's important to note that after April 12, 2024, noncompliant accessory dwelling units (ADUs) will be subject to enforcement action. This entails potential penalties for properties found with ADUs that do not comply with regulations. Furthermore, property owners seeking to legalize the construction of a noncompliant ADU after the amnesty period will be subject to a penalty fee.

All residents who may be affected are encouraged to take necessary steps to ensure compliance with Accessory Apartment Permit requirements. For more information about Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs), please visit the Village's FAQ page at crotononhudson-ny.gov/adu. If you have any questions or require assistance, please do not hesitate to contact the Engineering Department at (914) 271-4783.
