Notice to Residents: Hydrant Flushing Program to Begin 4/29

Hydrant Flushing Program – Spring 2024
Hydrant Flushing
The Village of Croton-on-Hudson Water Department will begin the semi-annual hydrant-flushing program today, April 29, 2024. Flushing will be performed Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 3 p.m. The flushing program is expected to take six weeks to complete.

Today, April 29, the Water Department will be flushing in the areas of Grand Street, Daily Drive, Niles Road, Quaker Bridge Road, Batten Road, Eklof Court, Cleveland Drive, Gerstein Street, Wood Road, Jacoby Street, and Harrison Street. Updates on areas being flushed will be posted when possible on the Water Dept. webpage and the Village's social media accounts.

As the hydrant-flushing program nears your neighborhood, you may notice a slight discoloration of your water. This is temporary and poses no health risk. Simply run your water for a short period of time until it clears up. Do not do any laundry until you are sure your water is clear. If the discoloration persists, contact the Croton-on-Hudson DPW at 271-3775.

This procedure is necessary to insure the continued cleanliness of the water system and is mandated by the New York State Department of Health. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding during this operation.
