Residents Encouraged to Apply for Openings on Various Boards/Committees

The Village Board of Trustees would like to invite members of the community to apply for consideration for open positions on the boards and committees outlined below. If you have an interest in joining any of the below boards or committees, please apply using the online application form. The Mayor will be reviewing the applications received and will be in contact with those selected for an open position.

Board of Trustees

The Mayor for the Village of Croton-on-Hudson is currently accepting applications to fill the Village Board of Trustees vacancy created by the resignation of Trustee Alejandro Rosales. The term of appointment will be to fulfill the remainder of the term to December 4, 2023. The Board sets policy, approves the budget, adopts local laws and appoints the Village Manager to implement policies and supervise administration of local affairs. The Board's meetings are open to the public and are usually held the first and third Mondays of the month. All completed applications for this position must be received by 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 1, 2022. 

Arts & Humanities Advisory Council

The Arts & Humanities Advisory Council (AHAC) works to support increased public awareness and appreciation for the arts, the integration of art into our public spaces, and to recognize and celebrate the achievements of our local arts community. 

Advisory Board on the Visual Environment

The Advisory Board on the Visual Environment acts in an advisory capacity to the Board of Trustees, Planning Board, the Board of Appeals and the Village Engineer for all projects and proposals under consideration by these bodies, in order to review those aspects of such projects and proposals which affect the visual environment of the village. Members must be village residents, and qualified in architecture, community planning, landscape architecture, real estate or other relevant activities.

Conservation Advisory Council

This council was formed to advise the Board of Trustees on matters affecting the preservation and use of the natural and man-made features and conditions of the village.  It is empowered to develop and conduct programs of public information in the community which shall be designed to foster increased understanding of the nature of environmental problems and issues and support for their solutions.  The council meets once per month.
