Residents Encouraged to Apply for Openings on Various Boards/Committees

The Village Board of Trustees is currently accepting applications for the boards and committees outlined below. If you have an interest in joining any of the below boards or committees, please apply using the online application form, found by clicking here. Over the next few weeks and months, the Mayor will be reviewing the applications received and will be in contact with those selected for an open position. 

Conservation Advisory Council

This council was formed to advise the Board of Trustees on matters affecting the preservation and use of the natural and man-made features and conditions of the village.  It is empowered to develop and conduct programs of public information in the community which shall be designed to foster increased understanding of the nature of environmental problems and issues and support for their solutions.  The council meets once per month.

Diversity and Inclusion Committee

The Diversity and Inclusion Committee was created by the Board of Trustees on November 5, 2018. The committee was created to develop and implement programs designed to create a spirit of diversity and inclusion for all that live, work in, and visit the Village of Croton-on-Hudson. The committee meets on an as-needed basis.

Police Advisory Committee

The Village Board set forth the following responsibilities for the Committee: such Committee shall advise the Chief of Police on issues and concerns of interest to local residents, make recommendations regarding recruitment and training policies and practices, undertake and organize educational outreach initiatives, in conjunction and coordination with the Chief of Police, to Village residents, particularly members of the Spanish-speaking and youth communities, and assess the needs and priorities for the future law enforcement administration of the Village.

Zoning Board of Appeals

The Zoning Board of Appeals considers applications regarding the interpretation of the Zoning Code, for special permits, and for variances from the Zoning Code. The board meets once a month.
