Hydrant Flushing to Begin August 30

The Village of Croton on Hudson Water Department will begin a hydrant-flushing program on Thursday, August 30, 2018 to improve water quality. Flushing will be performed between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

The Water Department will begin the hydrant flushing program on Old Post Road North near Brook Street then continue flushing hydrants going north along Old Post Road North and then along Albany Post Road to Arrowcrest Drive.

As the hydrant-flushing program nears your neighborhood, you may notice a slight discoloration of your water. This is temporary and poses no health risk. Simply run your water for a short period of time until it clears up. Do not do any laundry until you are sure your water is clear. If the discoloration persists, contact the Croton on Hudson DPW at 271-3775.

We apologize for any inconvenience this hydrant-flushing program may cause. This procedure is necessary to insure the continued cleanliness of the water system and is mandated by the New York State Department of Health. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding during this operation.
