Croton-on-Hudson Prepares for Stormy Weather

Storm Update

The Village of Croton-on-Hudson is monitoring the late week winter storm expected to impact our region. Thursday and Friday are expected to bring heavy rainfall, coastal flooding, strong winds, and wind chills on Saturday morning around zero degrees. Strong winds may blow down limbs, trees, and power lines. Scattered power outages are expected.

All residents are encouraged to take precautions for possible coastal flooding and power outages due to the significant rain storm and high winds that will affect Westchester through Friday night. For tips on how to do so, please click here. Residents should also check that their outdoor holiday decorations are secure to ensure they will not become projectiles during the storm.

Should a power outage occur, please notify Con Edison through their website, via their mobile apps for iOS or Android devices or by calling 1-800-75-CONED. The outage map from Con Edison can be viewed online here.

For those using the Croton-Harmon Train Station on Friday, there is a good possibility that storm surge flooding will impact the train station parking lot. Permit holders should avoid Section I of the parking lot on Friday. Please review our train station parking lot map to see other sections which are available for permit holders to use.

All residents are strongly encouraged to follow the Village's social media accounts on FacebookTwitter and Instagram where updates will be posted, as well as through the Village E-Alert system. Additionally, any emergency notifications will be sent via the Code Red system.
