Ann Gallelli
The Board of Trustees and staff of the Village of Croton-on-Hudson are deeply saddened by the passing of longtime trustee and deputy mayor, Ann Gallelli.

A 50-year resident of Croton-on-Hudson, Ann Gallelli dedicated over 35 years of service to the Village. Ann held various, significant roles on Village Boards and Committees, including the Board of Trustees, the Planning Board, the Waterfront Advisory Committee, the Water Control Commission, and the Comprehensive Plan Committee.

Most recently, Ann Gallelli was elected to the Board in 2006 and served as Deputy Mayor for 11 years--resigning in November 2023 for health reasons. Through her keen insight and dedication to public service, she has played a pivotal role in shaping our Village's future.

Ann Gallelli’s remarkable tenure was characterized by a deep understanding of governance and of the community itself. Ann approached her responsibilities with profound consideration. Her ability to collaborate effectively with fellow board members, engage with the community, and navigate complex issues was a testament to her leadership and dedication to the betterment of our Village.

The impact of Ann Gallelli’s contributions to the community can be seen on a daily basis from Croton Landing to Gouveia Park. Crotonites long into the future will benefit from Ann’s decades of service to our community. Ann was not only an exemplary public servant, but she also served as a mentor and friend to generations of the elected officials, appointed committee members and citizen volunteers she worked with for so many years.

All of Croton-on-Hudson sends its heartfelt sympathies to Ann’s husband John, and her children John Jr. and Carla at this sad time. Opportunities to celebrate Ann Gallelli's life and share memories will be communicated at a later date.
