Croton Community Calendar: October 5th Edition
The Croton Business Council & Village of Croton present the 2nd annual Oktoberfest featuring food, beer, arts and crafts, music and family fun! The Upper Village will be full of food and fest for all ages. Traditional German fare and craft beers, as well as international offerings from a wide variety of local spots! The event will feature vendors, live music, and a children's pumpkin painting/craft area.

Croton Point Nature & History Hike Croton Point Park Naturalist John Phillips and Village of Croton Historian Marc Cheshire will lead a hike on Saturday, October 15, at 9 a.m. to explore Croton Point’s history, natural history, archeology and geology. The hike will last roughly 1.5 to 2 hours. This event is free. Meet at the gate to the RV park, where parking is available. Ages 6 and up; wear sturdy shoes. Additional hikes will take place at the same time and meeting place on October 29 (a special Haunted Hollow hike for Halloween), November 19, December 3 and December 10.
The Westchester County Health Department is offering the bivalent COVID-19 vaccine booster. The new bivalent vaccine, which contains pieces of both the Delta and Omicron strands of COVID-19, is designed to provide better protection than previous boosters against the virus. The Health Department will have the Pfizer Bivalent Booster (12 and older) and the Moderna Bivalent Booster (18 and older) available. The Health Department has been directed by the FDA to no longer provide the monovalent booster, however all other vaccines for all other age groups will still be available. The bivalent vaccine is only approved as a booster shot, and can only be administered two months after your previous booster or your original series of the COVID-19 vaccine. Mothering Together is a new in-person support group for new parents and their babies! This group will offer community, support, and solace for parents at the beginning of their journeys. It is held at the Croton Free Library and led by Beth Villeneuve IBCLC, a licensed pediatric nurse and mother of seven. Beth also holds a Bachelor of Science in Maternal Child Health and Human Lactation. Different feeding styles will be discussed, and there are no feeding-style requirements or expectations to attend. And parents of all genders are welcomed with open arms! Free and open to all. Masks are not required, but participants are welcome to wear them. Registration required! Join Croton Recreation on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 for a day trip to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. Comfortable transportation via a charter bus is provided from the Shop Rite parking lot, and participants can enjoy one or both islands at their own pace. Free audio tours will be available. $25 Village Resident/$30 School District or Non Resident.
