Guided Whiskey Tasting In Support of Croton Caring

Friday, November 3rd, 2023, 7 PM to 9 PM                                                                             
Croton Yacht Club, 6 Elliot Way
 
Whiskey expert and author, Kurt Maitland, will guide participants on a tasting of American Whiskeys, from bourbon to American single malts. He will discuss the history of American whiskey distilling and what the future holds. All while supporting the work of Croton Caring! Tickets are $135. Space is limited for this unique experience. Saturday Evening Concert: Pianist Sharon Chang

Come to the Croton Free Library for a Saturday evening concert with up-and-coming pianist Sharon Chang. She will perform Haydn's C Major Fantasia, Chopin's Polonaise-Fantasie, and Brahms' F# Minor Sonata. Free and open to all. No tickets or reservations required.

Croton Point History Walk

Croton 125 is hosting a FREE history walk with Village Historian Marc Cheshire on November 5.  Information about indigenous people of the Hudson Valley, presented by Brigid Faranda, will be available from 8:30 – 9:00 with free coffee, cocoa, and donuts.  The walk takes place from 9:00 – 11:00 am. Meet at the parking area by the RV Park. 

DOROT Westchester: The Joy of Movement

This dynamic health coaching discussion will focus on the benefits of movement on our body,  brain, and spirit. We will recall sports and games we enjoyed as children and consider how we can bring more movement and joy into our lives now. Croton Friends of History: Croton Stone Houses

The Stone Houses were constructed between 1900 and 1938 on land Elizabeth Stevenson inherited from her father. Except for the first one, Wyndhurst, all the houses were designed by Elizabeth and her son Harvey, who once said his mother had “a unique obsession to plan and build.” Village Historian Marc Cheshire will take us behind the stone walls to see these remarkable homes—two of which are hidden from view—and to learn about some of the famous people who lived in them. Thursday, November 9, 7 p.m. at the Croton Free Library, Ottinger Room.


Veterans Day Luncheon

On Friday, November 10 th , 2023, the members of the Croton Yacht Club will celebrate Veterans Day at their 6 Elliott Way clubhouse by once again opening its doors and hearts to Croton’s community of veterans and active military to thank them for their service and sacrifices made on our behalf. The event will commence at noon and include a brief ceremony followed by a luncheon which will be free of charge for all village veterans and spouses, surviving spouses of veterans, active military and spouses. To offset the luncheon expenses, it is suggested that all non-military attendees donate $15 per adult and $5 per teen over 16, children are free. Any net proceeds realized from the luncheon will be donated to the American Legion Fox-Eklof Post 505. Veterans Day Ceremony

The American Legion Fox Eklof Post 505 will be celebrating this year's Veterans Day on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Veterans Corners.  In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held in the Holy Name of Mary Church Gymnasium, 120 Grand Street, Croton on Hudson. 

River View Jazz Concert Series: Bill Crow & Friends

Enjoy an afternoon of jazz, featuring the legendary Bill Crow and friends, at the Ottinger Room of the Croton Free Library. Show will begin at 2:00pm - seating is limited, first come first served. Bill Crow, described as the dean of American bass players, has played with everyone from Charlie Parker, Gerry Mulligan, and Dizzy Gillespie to Croton's own Manny Albam. At this show, he'll be fronting a quartet comprised of piano, trumpet and drums. This Jazz Sundays series is co-sponsored by the Croton Free Library and the Village of Croton-on-Hudson's Arts & Humanities Council. Be on the lookout for future dates!

Croton Business Meeting

COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic

The Village of Croton-on-Hudson will be hosting a Pop-Up COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic at the Stanley H. Kellerhouse Municipal Building, 1 Van Wyck Street on Friday, November 17th, 2023. The Clinic will offer the 2023–2024 updated COVID-19 vaccines (both Pfizer and Moderna). Please register using the online form or call 914-271-2895.

Volunteer needed! DOROT’s Thanksgiving Meal Delivery brings hundreds of older adults and volunteers together to share warmth and companionship.
