Croton Point Nature & History Hike
Saturday, November 19th, 9:00 AM

Croton Point Park Naturalist John Phillips and Village of Croton Historian Marc Cheshire will lead a hike on Saturday, November 19, at 9 a.m. to explore Croton Point’s history, natural history, archaeology and geology. The hike will last roughly 1.5 to 2 hours. This event is free. Meet at the gate to the RV park, where parking is available. Ages 6 and up; wear sturdy shoes. Additional hikes will take place at the same time and meeting place on December 3 and December 10.
 
Community Blood Drive

The New York Blood Center will be hosting a blood drive in the Community Room at the Municipal Building on Saturday, November 19, 2022 from 10 AM to 4 PM. Appointments preferred, but walk-ins welcome if drive capacity permits. To sign up, call 1-800-933-2566 or visit http://www.nybc.org/donate.
 
Tales of the Hudson River with Chris Letts

Gather 'round for an afternoon of tall tales of the Hudson River, its creatures, characters and cultures. Local legend Chris Letts has been a Hudson River fisherman, naturalist and educator for over forty years. Free to the public / All ages / Outdoor event. 
 
Croton Free Library Fall Book & Bake Sale

NYS Archaeological Association - Hanover Square After 40 Years

The 7 Hanover Square site, located in Lower Manhattan and excavated in the early 1980s, was one of the first large-scale archaeological projects conducted in New York City and the first on a landfill block. The artifacts excavated during this project comprise one of the foundational collections housed in the NYC Archaeological Repository: The Nan A Rothschild Research Center managed by the NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission. Dr. Wiley will give an overview of the significance of this legacy collection and will discuss issues involved with bringing this important resource into the 21st century through GIS mapping, a relational database, and online public access. Kevin Wiley, PhD, is an Urban Archaeologist at the NYC Archaeological Repository. He has worked in New York City archaeology for a decade and is an expert in computerized mapping of archaeological data. Event is free to the public. 
 
Actors Conservatory Theatre Presents: The Fantasticks

The Fantasticks, the longest running musical of all time, will be presented by the Actors Conservatory Theatre at Croton Academy of Arts as part of a special fall residency. Show dates are November 18, 19, and 20. Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays are at 8PM. Sunday Matinee at 2pm. Tickets and pricing information is available at https://www.actshows.org/, or at the door. 
 
The Lost Estates of Peekskill

With names such as Mount Florence, Rest Hill, and the Beeches, the hills overlooking Peekskill were once home to magnificent properties with national reputations. Owned by people such as Daniel Craig, one of the founders of the Associated Press, the abolitionist Henry Ward Beecher and Moses Sperry Beach, owner of the New York Sun, the estates were sites of scandal, adultery, and humbug. Join local historian Kirk Moldoff for a look into a little-known aspect of local life in the 1800s.
 
COVID-19 Booster Clinic

The Village is hosting a pop-up COVID-19 booster clinic in the Community Room at the Stanley H. Kellerhouse Municipal Building at 1 Van Wyck Street, Croton-on-Hudson, on Tuesday, November 22nd from Noon to 3 PM. Registration is required.
