Village Historian Marc Cheshire will take us on a tour of Croton at the dawn of the 20th century. See familiar streets and buildings as they looked more than 100 years ago and discover long-lost treasures like Croton’s first train station, the barn at Van Cortlandt Manor, the Gardiner Estate. Varsity Boys Lacrosse: Croton Harmon vs. Ossining
Thursday, May 4th, 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Spencer Field
 
On Thursday night May 4, 2023 at 7:00 pm, the Varsity Boys Lacrosse team will be playing against Ossining "UNDER THE LIGHTS" of Spencer Field. The community is invited to come out and support the team during this exciting game. 
 

Croton Harmon Softball PINK/TEAL Game
Friday, May 5th, 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM
Firefighter's Field
 
On Friday night May 5, 2023 at 6:30 pm, the Varsity Softball team will be playing against Scarsdale "UNDER THE LIGHTS" of Firefighter's Field. The team holds the PINK/TEAL game each year in May to support those with Breast and Ovarian Cancer, and have raised thousands in funds for Support Connection, an organization to support Breast and Ovarian Cancer patients. All are invited to come out and support the team! 
 

125th Anniversary Ping Pong Tournament
Holy Name of Mary Gymnasium, 110 Grand Street
Saturday, May 6th, 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM
 
The first-ever ping pong tournament in Croton on Hudson to be held by the Croton 125 committee in conjunction with the USA Table Tennis Association, Westchester Table Tennis, and Ping Pong Parkinson. The event will take place on May 6, 2023 at Holy Name of Mary Gymnasium, 110 Grand Street, Croton on Hudson NY 10520. There is a $10 advance entry fee ($20 at the door). Click here to register online.

A celebration of love a nature, including Johannes Brahms' romatic Liebeslieder Waltzes Op. 52, John Corigliano’s rarely performed Fern Hill, shorter works by  Daniel Elder and Morten Lauridsen, and opera choruses by Mozart, Leoncavallo, Handel and Donizetti. Join us for an evening of inspiring music from The Taghkanic Chorale, one of  Westchester’s premier choral ensembles.

Croton Friends of History: New Croton Dam

By any measure, the New Croton Dam is an engineering marvel. For 14 years (from 1892 to 1906) as many as 1,000 workers used more than 500 pieces of heavy machinery, 745,000 barrels of cement, 100,000 tons of coal and an incalculable quantity of locally quarried stone to build the dam. It is said to be the third largest hand-hewn structure in the world after the Great Pyramid of Giza and the Great Wall of China. Village Historian Marc Cheshire will describe the construction process and the lasting impact the project had on the village.

Enjoy the 55th Annual Salute to Seniors event on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 from 10:00 am - 12:30 pm at Croton Point Park located in Croton-on-Hudson. The Salute to Seniors event will feature music and information on programs, products, and services targeted to our senior community. Take part in the celebration of the seniors in our community, receive a complimentary lunch, and enjoy all there is to offer for our seniors. Businesses and non-profit organizations serving seniors throughout Westchester County are all welcome to participate. Birthday Celebration of the life and legacy of Lorraine Hansberry

The Lorraine Hansberry Coalition of Croton invites the whole community to join in the annual  birthday celebration of the life and legacy of Lorraine Hansberry on Saturday, May 20th at 4:00 pm.The event will take place at Bethel Cemetery, at the intersection of Peter Beet Lane and Cleveland Drive. This year's event will be an informal gathering with limited seating provided. Those who wish to speak are welcome to do so!
 

Village Voices Art Exhibit Reception

Celebrating people and places from the Village of Croton-on-Hudson through paintings, sketches, etchings, encaustic art, photographs, sculpture, pottery, tapestries, and more.
