Birthday Celebration of the life and legacy of Lorraine Hansberry

The Lorraine Hansberry Coalition of Croton invites the whole community to join in the annual  birthday celebration of the life and legacy of Lorraine Hansberry on Saturday, May 20th at 4:00 pm.The event will take place at Bethel Cemetery, at the intersection of Peter Beet Lane and Cleveland Drive. This year's event will be an informal gathering with limited seating provided. Those who wish to speak are welcome to do so!
 

Village Voices Art Exhibit Reception

Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Hudson Valley, 2021 Albany Post Road
 
Celebrating people and places from the Village of Croton-on-Hudson through paintings, sketches, etchings, encaustic art, photographs, sculpture, pottery, tapestries, and more. The reception on Saturday, May 20th is free, and everyone is welcome. Come and enjoy some great art, talk to the artists, and have fun! More info at croton125.org.
 

125th Anniversary Trolley Tour and Dine Around Town
Sunday, May 21st, 4:00 PM to 7:30 PM
 
Save the date - Join the 125th Anniversary Committee for a a taste of Croton with a Dine Around Town! The two dine around trolleys are free to ride and there are no tickets or reservations needed. Just hop on or hop off at any stop. This event is open to all ages. The trolleys will make continuous loops throughout our Village stopping at our business districts, starting at 4:00 PM and running continuously until the last trolley pickup at 7:30 pm. Open Arms for Refugees Sunset Soiree

Open Arms for Refugees is hosting its first Sunset Soiree to celebrate its work of building new lives, making treasured friendships and creating beautiful communities together, one refugee, one family, at a time. Open Arms for Refugees is a network of volunteers and community organizations drawn from Ossining, Cold Spring and surrounding towns, formed in 2021 to help newly arrived refugees, escaping persecution in their native lands, to find welcome and support as they transition to life in our Northern Westchester communities. In that brief time span, Open Arms has successfully effected five resettlements in 2022, and an additional three so far in 2023. Our newest neighbors come from Afghanistan, Colombia and the Ukraine! Tickets are $50, reservations required. Cash bar for beer and wine. Dress casually for a comfortable evening with friends! Police Advisory Committee Community Town Hall

The Village of Croton-on-Hudson Police Advisory Committee, in conjunction with the Village Board of Trustees and the Police Department, will host a Town Hall for the community on Tuesday, May 30th, 2023 at 7:00 PM. The Town Hall is an opportunity for residents to learn about the results of the 2023 Community Survey on Public Safety and Law Enforcement, a report from the Police Advisory Committee, as well as a presentation from the Croton Police Department. Questions and input from residents will be welcomed at the end of the meeting. The meeting will be held in the Georgianna Grant Meeting Room of the Municipal Building at 1 Van Wyck Street. Residents are invited to attend in person, or you can view the Town Hall meeting on Cable Channel 78, as well as on the Village’s website. Residents may email questions or comments to Crotonpoliceadvisorycommittee@gmail.com to be reviewed at the meeting. The meeting will be recorded and archived on the Village website to view following the meeting.

Westchester County Mobile Shredder @ Lot A

The Westchester County Mobile Shredder is coming to Croton-on-Hudson on Wednesday, May 31st from 9:00 AM to Noon. The unit will be parked at the Croton-Harmon Train Station Parking Lot A. Residents can bring up to 4 file-size (10”x12”x15”) boxes of confidential papers per household for shredding. Please remove all large binder clips and covers before shredding. The Old Mill Singers 50th Anniversary Concerts

The Old Mill Singers are celebrating their 50th Anniversary with a special concert on June 3rd and June 4th. (Please note: there are two concert dates and times. Saturday, June 3rd at 7PM and Sunday, June 4th at 3PM. The concert length is approximately 2-3 hours). The concert is in memory of the founding and 40 year musical director, Gary Bratt, and longstanding member and President, John Massey. The concert will include a wide range of musical selections from rock and pop to show tunes, classical and some of our honorees' favorites. Something for everyone! Summerfest 2023

The Village of Croton-on-Hudson will host its 35th Annual Summerfest on Sunday, June 4th, 2023. This year's festivities will kick off with a parade honoring the Village's 125th Anniversary. From 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM, the streets of the Upper Village (Grand Street/Old Post Road South) will be filled with live music, entertainment, delicious food & street vendors. More info at crotonsummerfest.org
