Croton Free Library Online Action
March 13 through March 27
 
The Croton Free Library Association is very excited to be holding a new fundraiser, an Online Auction. The auction will be held March 13-27, 2021 at www.crotonfreelibrary.org/auction. The auction includes 100 items generously donated by our community and features many local artists and businesses. Items include handmade knitted fashions, gift cards to an assortment of local stores and restaurants, art works and a number of online tutorials. Depending on the item purchased, the Library will include either a gently used book or a “Croton Strong” t-shirt (donated by the Green Growler). As always, all funds raised by the auction go towards supporting the Croton Free Library.
 
Earth Day 2021 Art Competition
Ongoing through March 31
 
Croton100 is holding a month-long art competition in celebration of Earth Day 2021. Free and open to school-aged children, amateur and professional adults. There will be digital flyer distribution starting February 20, with a submission deadline of March 31. All activity will be online, with no in-person meetings or gatherings.
 
Croton Drawing Mini-Camp
Tuesday-Thursday, March 30-April 1 – 2 to 3:30 p.m.

A Drawing Mini-Camp during the Croton schools' spring break! For ages 8-13. Free and open to any teens and tweens in Westchester. In this three-day mini-camp, participants will learn three basic foundational skills for drawing. Budding artists will learn about value, color, portraits, and figure drawing. No experience required, and anyone who’s excited about art and wants to learn is welcome. The lessons will be very relaxed and kids will be encouraged to interact and ask questions. Supplies: Two standard graphite pencils with good erasers, and a sketchbook or a few sheets of paper. A workspace with good lighting is also a plus. Registration: Email gglazer@wlsmail.org. Students should attend all three sessions.
 
Croton Writing Workshop
Wednesday-Friday, March 31 – April 2 – 1 to 2 p.m.

Write, revise, & publish a book! A mini-camp during the Croton schools' spring break. For ages 9-14. Free and open to any teens and tweens in Westchester! Draft, revise, and design — turn your story idea into a book! Working with local children’s author Melissa Sarno, participants will bring their story idea to life. Together, we will learn how to draft, revise, and design a book or story that will be ready to publish someday! Supplies: Come with the passion to create! Participants should have a work in progress or an idea for a story they want to turn into a book. Registration: Email gglazer@wlsmail.org. Students should attend all three sessions.
