Movie Night at Senasqua Park - Toy Story 4

Movies are shown in Senasqua Park beginning at dusk on Wednesdays (starting June 28th). Families are encouraged to bring a picnic, enjoy the sunset and stay for the movies. In case of rain, movies are shown on the next evening. June 28th Movie: Toy Story 4 (Rated G).


Emergency Preparedness Workshop

Do you know what to do in an emergency? Join the Croton Fre Library for an introduction to responding to a natural or human-caused disaster with NY Army National Guard 1LT Kyle Kilner from the NYS Citizen Preparedness Corps. Learn more and register at crotonfreelibrary.org.


July 4th Revolutionary History Re-enactment Showcase

Van Cortlandt Manor, 525 S. Riverside Avenue
 

This Independence Day, join local historian Duane Jackson on the grounds of the Van Cortlandt Manor for a Revolutionary History Re-enactment Showcase. Costumed presenters will portray soldiers in the 1st Rhode Island Regiment and  2nd New York Regiments, exploring local battles fought by a pioneering regiment of Black soldiers in the Revolutionary War. The presentation will last approximately 2 hours.

The Showcase will feature the origin and history of the First Rhode Island Regiment, the Battle of Rhone Island fought by First Rhode Island Regiment, the Battle of Pine Bridge fought in Yorktown Heights, NY by the First Rhode Island Regiment, an overview of the Continental Army, the history of the 2nd New York Regiment, a description of what the soldiers wore, how they lived and fought and a demonstration of the firing of a musket.


Historical Society Hike

Village of Croton Historian Marc Cheshire will lead a hike on Saturday, July 8, at 9 a.m.to explore Croton Point’s rich history. The hike will last roughly 1.5 to 2 hours. This event is free. Meet at the gate to the RV park, where parking is available. Ages 6 and up; wear sturdy shoes. The same hike will take place (at the same time and meeting location) on July 29 and August 5.


Summer Movies at the Library

Stay cool with family-friendly summer movies at the Croton Free Library. There will be six weeks of matinees. All showings are free. The first movie on July 10 will be Coco.


Sunset Yoga

Monday, July 10, 7:00 PM
Croton Free Library
 

Try Sunset Yoga at the Croton Free Library. This summer, certified yoga instructor Lindsay Fletcher will focus on slow-paced movement and poses. Bring your own yoga mat or make use of one from the library. Free and no registration required. This series will run for six Monday nights in July and August. Attend the full series or drop into any class.
