Croton Academy Summer Theatre present StarKid's FIREBRINGER!

Croton Academy Summer Theatre (CAST) will present StarKid’s musical comedy, “FIREBRINGER.” CAST is Croton Academy of Art’s summer theater program for young people ages 12 to 20, and is in its second year. The performances are Friday, July 28 at 7:30 pm; Saturday, July 29, at 2:30 pm and 7:30 pm; and Sunday, July 30 at 2:30 pm, at the Croton Academy of Arts Theatre, 8 Old Post Road, South, Croton-on-Hudson, NY. General admission tickets are $20; students and children are $15 at www.crotonacademy.org/tickets. Croton Summer Concert Series - The British Legends of Rock

The Village's Summer Concert Series continues with the British Legends of Rock (self explanatory). Bring a blanket and some folding chairs and enjoy the tunes and Hudson River sunset. Beer, wine, and hard cider will be available for purchase from the Green Growler. 

Croton Point History Hike

Croton Point History Hike Village of Croton Historian Marc Cheshire will lead a hike on Saturday, July 29, at 9 a.m. to explore Croton Point’s rich history. The hike will last roughly 1.5 to 2 hours. This event is free. Meet at the gate to the RV park, where parking is available. Ages 6 and up; wear sturdy shoes. The same hike will take place (at the same time and meeting location) on August 5.

Croton Free Library Concert: Skin Against Metal

Check out an immersive sound experience at the Croton Free Library! Local ensemble Skin Against Metal will debut its new sound project, XYZ. This project creates an ambient listening environment by positioning speakers in strategic places so sound travels in specific directions, immersing the listener a multi-directional sound experience. Maurice Minichino (pianist, composer, sound engineer), Nanette Garcia (percussionist, vocalist, composer), James O’Keeffe (bassist) have been experimenting with sound together for the last two years, creating an ambisonic experience that changes the way the ensemble performs music and the way the audience listens. Free and open to all! This program is appropriate for children. No tickets required. First come, first served.

Free Tutoring Sessions at the Library

Croton residents Linda Simon & Christine O'Connor, experienced English teachers & tutors, are offering free sessions in August for students! Get help with starting a college essay, editing a draft, or finishing up the final product. Free and available to any high-school senior! To reserve for this in-person session, email lindasimon.ny@gmail.com. There will also be two remote sessions via ZOOM on Aug. 15., 5-7 pm, Aug 24, 4-6 pm, and Aug. 30, 5-7 pm Reservations are required for all sessions, and students can attend as many as they wish. Croton Free Library's website lists all sessions on its calendar.
