Cortlandt Summer Concert & Movie Series - First Class Dance Band; D.C. League of Super Pets (2022)

The Town of Cortlandt will be hosting its Annual Summer Concert and Movie Series at the Cortlandt Waterfront Park  located at 77 Riverview Avenue in Verplanck, beginning mid June and ending in August. Food vendors will be on site for dinner and snacks for purchase!

Try Sunset Yoga at the Croton Free Library! In this summer series, certified yoga instructor Lindsay Fletcher will focus on slow-paced movement and poses. Gentle yoga releases tension in the body and builds flexibility with awareness of the breath. Join us to relax and restore yourself. All ages and all levels welcome! BYO yoga mat or use one of ours. Croton Academy Summer Theatre (CAST) will present StarKid’s musical comedy, “FIREBRINGER.” CAST is Croton Academy of Art’s summer theater program for young people ages 12 to 20, and is in its second year. The performances are Friday, July 28 at 7:30 pm; Saturday, July 29, at 2:30 pm and 7:30 pm; and Sunday, July 30 at 2:30 pm, at the Croton Academy of Arts Theatre, 8 Old Post Road, South, Croton-on-Hudson, NY. General admission tickets are $20; students and children are $15 at www.crotonacademy.org/tickets. Croton Point History Hike

Croton Point Park (Meet at gate to RV Park)

Croton Point History Hike Village of Croton Historian Marc Cheshire will lead a hike on Saturday, July 29, at 9 a.m. to explore Croton Point’s rich history. The hike will last roughly 1.5 to 2 hours. This event is free. Meet at the gate to the RV park, where parking is available. Ages 6 and up; wear sturdy shoes. The same hike will take place (at the same time and meeting location) on August 5.

Croton Free Library Concert: Skin Against Metal

Check out an immersive sound experience at the Croton Free Library! Local ensemble Skin Against Metal will debut its new sound project, XYZ. This project creates an ambient listening environment by positioning speakers in strategic places so sound travels in specific directions, immersing the listener a multi-directional sound experience. Maurice Minichino (pianist, composer, sound engineer), Nanette Garcia (percussionist, vocalist, composer), James O’Keeffe (bassist) have been experimenting with sound together for the last two years, creating an ambisonic experience that changes the way the ensemble performs music and the way the audience listens. Free and open to all! This program is appropriate for children. No tickets required. First come, first served.
