Croton Free Library
Drop into the Croton Free Library on Wednesdays (starting January 9) for homework help, run by local high school students who want to help younger friends. These 90-minutes sessions will take place in the small program room.

Eagles and More Walk
Saturday, January 12 – 9 to 11 AM
Echo Canoe Launch
Now an annual tradition! Come birding with Charlie Roberto, starting 9:00 am at Croton's Echo Canoe Launch and then drive into Croton Point Park for more birding. Eagles expected! Co-sponsored by Teatown Lake Reservation. After the walk, join members and friends of Saw Mill River Audubon at our Annual Soup Potluck at the Croton Point Nature Center. All are welcome!
Project FeederWatch
Saturday-Sunday, January 12-13 – 9 to 11 AM
Croton Point Nature Center
Come ID and count birds at the bird feeders at Croton Point Nature Center with volunteers from Saw Mill River Audubon viewing the feeders from inside the Center. Beginners encouraged. Join us for an open Book Club featuring special guest N. West Moss, the author of this month’s book selection, “The Subway Stops at Bryant Park.” The author will be speaking about her book and writing. Moss’ collection of short stories includes some based in Croton and family life in the town. Refreshments served.

Croton Celebrates Martin Luther King Jr.
Sunday, January 20 – 12:30 to 2 PM
St. Augustine Episcopal Church
Join the Croton interfaith community in honoring Dr. King and developing strategies for building peace while standing against hateful speech and actions. Gather for a keynote address at St. Augustine Episcopal Church and then process to Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church for break-out sessions that build unity, develop faith-based community leadership and raise awareness about the concerns of our neighbors.
“Turning Back Time” with Soprano Laura Stelman Jaeger and Pianist Mark Mitchell

At home with both opera and Broadway, Croton-on-Hudson’s own Laura Stelman Jaeger offers “an intimate cabaret,” chronicling life’s twists and turns from conservatory to cancer and beyond. Laura, who received her Bachelor’s Degree from the Manhattan School of Music and her Master’s from Indiana University, is joined by fellow Croton resident, pianist Mark Mitchell. Mark has been the music director, conductor and/or pianist for well over 50 Broadway, off-Broadway, national tour and regional productions. Come to Laura’s home library to warm up a chilly evening with vocal works by favorite composers, from Bernstein to Sondheim, Rodgers to Rossini.
