Westchester Breathes

Online Meeting
Westchester Breathes is online program of gentle movement, breathing, and relaxation exercises that can reduce anxiety and increase a sense of calm and wellbeing. Learn simple, evidence-based techniques, and ready for the next moment from a place of calm and clarity. This program meets every Friday morning on Zoom until March 27, but can be joined at any time.
 
Croton Point Beach Clean Up

Croton Point Park
The Conservation Advisory Council is inviting members of the community for their clean-up of Croton Point Beach. They aim to remove trash, tires and construction material to protect the ecosystem and wildlife. Bags, and gloves will be provided. Please bring a shovel to dig tires out of sand, and any other trash that is buried in the sand. This has been coordinated with a low tide. Event will be cancelled if weather does not permit.

Bird Walk

Join the Saw Mill River Audubon Society for their bi-monthly bird walk at Croton Point Park. Attendees must register online and space is limited to 20 people. Vaccinations are required of all attendees. If full, join the waitlist as new spaces open weekly. Short Story Group

If you are interested in reading more often this winter, but do not have time to read an entire book, then join the Croton Free Library’s Short Story Group.
Each week, they will read and discuss a different short story by a contemporary writer.

Coding in Scratch for Students in Grades 4-8
Tuesday, January 18 | 4:30 PM – 5:30 PM
Online Meeting
Learn the basics of coding and have fun in this online introduction to programming with the Croton Free Library. Sessions start January 18 and run for 8 weeks. They will use the Scratch environment to explore basic conditional logic, loops, events, debugging, and more. Students will make animations and small games, and be able to share their finished work with their family and friends. No experience is necessary. All you need is a computer and an internet connection.
