The Hudson Valley String Quartet Presents “The Bad Boys of the Quartet: Ravel and Beethoven”

Sunday, January 27 – 2 PM

Croton Free Library

When one thinks about musicians rebelling against tradition, classical music does not instantly come to mind. Yet Beethoven and Ravel composed some of the most avant-garde music of their time, and it was not always a comfortable experience for their audiences or their critics. The Hudson Valley String Quartet - Marka Young, David Fiedler, violins; Lauren Buono, viola; Jeanne Fox, cello - explores both the “badness” and the greatness of Ludwig van Beethoven’s quirky and beautiful Opus 59, #3 quartet, and Maurice Ravel’s sensuous, iconic quartet written in 1903. Taking great music local, the Hudson Valley String Quartet is dedicated to bringing great string quartet literature to the Hudson Valley’s concert scene.
