Registration is now open for spring baseball and softball for the Croton Little League. Early bird discounts run until January 15; regular registration continues through end of February. Croton Caldecott Club

Adults who love picture books: Join fellow fans of children's literature at the Library! The club will read & discuss this year's candidates for the Caldecott Medal — an annual award given to the most distinguished picture book for children. The club will meet on three Thursdays — Jan. 12, 19 & 26 — from 7-8pm to read and discuss the nominees from 2022. The club will watch the Youth Media Awards together live and celebrate with a special breakfast on Monday, Jan. 30 at 8am. Free and open to all adults, but registration is required! Learn how industry quality radio, podcasts, and longer form journalism are made with Marc Sophos from OutCasting! OutCasting is a series of public radio programs by LGBTQ+ youth and their allies for the general public with a national reach of 200 radio stations. This event is offered in collaboration with: The Greenburgh Public Library, Dobbs Ferry Public Library, Hastings-on-Hudson Public Library, Ossining Public Library, Mount Kisco Public Library, Larchmont Public Library, White Plains Public Library, Chappaqua Public Library, Somers Public Library, Croton Free Library, Katonah Public Library, and Mount Pleasant Public Library. Let your CHHS students know about the Pizza & Study Night at the Croton Free Library! Come to the Library, have some pizza, & study for midterms or anything else. Spread out in the Ottinger Room and concentrate on homework or test prep. Snacks provided! Free & open to all high school-age students! Break for pizza at 5pm.

Lincoln Depot Museum Trip (Adult 60+ Winter Trip)

Join Croton Recreation for a private tour of the Lincoln Depot Museum, which was created from the 3,000 square foot freight and passenger rail depot where President-elect Abraham Lincoln stopped to greet New Yorkers on February 19, 1861 during his inaugural train ride between Springfield, IL and Washington, DC. After the tour, the group will go to Taormino Trattoria for lunch. Fee: $50 for Village residents, $55 for non-residents. Register online or complete & return this form to the Recreation Department. Winter Sowing Workshop

Learn how to grow beautiful flowers or fresh vegetables without needing indoor space or lights. Winter Sowing, pioneered by Trudi Davidoff, is an easy method of starting seeds using nothing more than recycled containers, potting soil, and duct tape. Start seeds for a pot on your front step or for a whole vegetable garden. In February 1898, Croton-on-Hudson officially became a village. Join the Croton 125th Anniversary Committee for a celebration at Croton-Harmon High School auditorium with local and high school musicians and performers, our very own Village Board of Trustees, and Village Historian, Marc Cheshire. There will be music, reenactments, a glimpse of Croton in the late 1800s, cake, refreshments, and more! This event is free and open to the public.
