Happy 125th Birthday, Croton!

Croton-Harmon High School Auditorium, 36 Old Post Road South
 

We are so excited to kick-off Croton's 125th Anniversary with "Happy Birthday, Croton!" on February 10th at 7:30 PM at the Croton-Harmon High School Auditorium. The event is SOLD OUT and tickets will not be available at the door. If possible, please print your EventBrite tickets in advance or have your mobile ticket ready at the door. If you reserved tickets and find you cannot attend, please email croton125anniversary@gmail.com Parking at the school has been set aside for handicapped ticket holders, so walking  is encouraged (weather permitting), as well as carpooling, and parking nearby and walking to the school. You may drop people off at the front doors near the gymnasium too. The musical and historical celebration will be followed with birthday cake, refreshments and (of course) a Happy Birthday song!

SUBJECT: Virtual budget forum for local organizations, elected officials, residents, and communities of Westchester County to share their views on the Governor’s Executive Budget for SFY 2023-2024. Testimony welcome. Please register in advance to receive a time slot. Zoom link to be sent the day prior to the forum. The Westchester Delegation will accommodate as many participants as possible. Five Towns, One Book: The Life of Lorraine Hansberry

The Coalition for Understanding Racism through Education (CURE) will host the third annual Five Towns, One Book celebration! This County-wide event focuses on the multifaceted and brilliant Lorraine Hansberry with a new, inspired biography of her life. Dr. Soyica Diggs Colbert — Georgetown professor and author of Radical Vision, A Biography of Lorraine Hansberry — will participate in a roundtable chat with Lynda Jones of The Lorraine Hansberry Coalition, among others. This event is free and open to all, but registration is required and space is limited! Winter Break Program: Chemical Wizardry (Grades 1-4)

Get ready for a fun filled “magical experience” Harry Potter style! Learn about atoms, bonding and the periodic table in this hands-on introduction to chemistry and physics. Have fun making flubber, super Hi-Bounce balls, glowing goo and much more! Enjoy demonstrated experiments such as the Big Bang Cannon and Magic Genie in the Bottle. Take home projects you created, a recipe booklet, and a mini-chemistry kit. Come join the science fun!  Register online or at the Recreation Office.
