Croton Fire Department Holiday Parade

The Croton Fire Department will be leading a “Holiday Parade” on Saturday, December 10th starting at 6pm. It will begin on Benedict Blvd., roll through Harmon, the Upper Village, the North End and back down South Riverside Avenue. Grab a hot cocoa and come outside to usher in the holiday season with the Croton Volunteer Fire Department. The Croton Free Library has a new weekend class for kids! Join Amy for Rock N' Roll for Little Ones on Saturday mornings at 11:15am -- live guitar, starting with kids classics such as "Twinkle Twinkle" and American folk songs, then moving onto The Beatles, Chuck Berry, and other rock favorites. Children and caretakers alike -- get ready to sing and dance! No registration required! Meets Dec. 10 and Dec. 17, and then starts again in January.

Free Rabies Vaccines for Westchester Pets

Westchester County residents can bring their dogs, cats and ferrets in for free rabies vaccinations on Saturday, December 10 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Paws Crossed Animal Rescue, 100 Warehouse Lane South in Elmsford.  Appointments are required. Call 914-372-7878 for more information.

New York State Archaeological Association: Public Program on Stone Tool Production Methods & Seasonal Holiday Celebration

The L.A. Brennan Lower Hudson Chapter, New York State Archaeological Association presents a program by Jenna Anderson about stone tool production methods 770 thousand to 130 thousand years ago at four ancient Pleistocene archaeological sites in Africa. Fossil evidence indicates that hominin brains underwent significant size increases and structural changes in the Pleistocene and study of hominin cognition and behavior may be informed by analysis of stone tool production methods throughout this era. COVID-19 Pop-up Booster Clinic

COVID-19 vaccine booster shots will be available at a pop-up clinic in the Community Room at the Stanley H. Kellerhouse Municipal Building at 1 Van Wyck Street, Croton-on-Hudson, on Wednesday, December 14th from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The bivalent Pfizer Bivalent Booster (12 and older) and the bivalent Moderna Bivalent Booster (18 and older) will be available. Registration is required. After a two-year hiatus, the Croton Artisans will once again host the immensely popular Holiday Boutique! The Holiday Boutique, sponsored by the Croton Council on the Arts, is the perfect place to find unique handmade gifts for the holidays while enjoying tasty treats and live music. The Croton Artisans will be selling handcrafted items, including jewelry, Japanese Paper Art, scarves, fashion items, and oil paintings. Guest artisans will offer lovely handmade wood cutting boards, Japanese silk scarves and wraps, soaps, handmade candies, baked goods, and more. Admission is free!

Croton Academy of the Arts Presents: James and the Giant Peach, Jr.

Roald Dahl's story comes hilariously to life in this delightful dramatization that reveals the wickedness of some, the goodness of others, and the indecision encountered by many when they are faced with crises. Featuring a wickedly tuneful score and a witty and charming book, this adventurous new musical about courage and self-discovery is a classic. Performances are Friday, Decemeber 16th and Saturday, December 17th at 7:00 pm. A 3:00 pm performance on Sunday, Dec 18 is sold out. Visual Journaling for the New Year

In this workshop, participants will create a visual journal using repurposed images, quotes, and more. The practice of visual journaling sparks creativity by pushing us past artistic perfection and into a space where we can relax and express ourselves. There are no rules in visual journaling! Anything goes and no special artistic experience is required. All art supplies provided. Participants will go home with a journal they can keep. Winter Wonderland Drive-thru Holiday Light Extravaganza at Kensico Dam Plaza

Westchester’s Winter Wonderland Drive-Thru Holiday Light Extravaganza has returned to Kensico Dam Plaza with thousands lights and magical holiday animations. Starting Friday November 25th at 6 p.m., the festive celebration takes place five consecutive weeks through January 1, 2023. End times vary per night.
