Croton Business Council Presents: “What’s for Dinner?” Wednesdays  

The Croton Business Council has partnered with participating hospitality retailers in the Village for “What's For Dinner?” Wednesdays in an effort to encourage residents to shop and eat local. Retailers offer to-go specials (in-dining and delivery not available) at a discount of 10-30% off menu  prices. Dinner specials will be listed on the CBC Croton Business Council Facebook page, as well as various Croton Community pages each week. In-dining and delivery not available for featured specials.


Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day Ceremony

The Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day Ceremony will be on Thursday, December 7th at 3:30pm at Cortlandt Town Hall, 1 Heady Street, Cortlandt Manor. Light refreshments to follow. 


Make Your Own Goddess Bracelet

Get creative with the Library! Come in and make a beaded goddess bracelet. It’s easy for beginners, and no experience necessary — it's a great way to get into beading for someone who would like to get started. All materials provided. Free and open to anyone age 8+. No registration required!

Our Saviour Lutheran Church Annual Tag Sale and Christmas Fair

Our Saviour Lutheran Church is having its annual Tag Sale and Christmas Fair on Saturday, December 9th from 10 am - 3 pm. Find some treasures in the boutique, unique hand-made gifts at the craft fair, refreshments at the cafe, and delicious baked goods to enjoy! If you are a vendor and would like to rent a table, please contact mail@oursaviourcroton.org. Some of the proceeds will support renovation in the church, and some to those less fortunate around the world devastated by natural disasters and ravages of war. 


Repair Café

Repair Cafés are FREE community events where you bring your broken but beloved items and volunteer repair coaches help you FIX THEM! The Village of Croton-on-Hudson's first-ever Repair Café will take place on Saturday, December 9th, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM in the Croton Municipal Building Community Room located at 1 Van Wyck Street in Croton-on-Hudson. The Repair Café is sponsored by the Village of Croton-on-Hudson and the Town of Cortlandt, and hosted by the Croton Conservation Advisory Council. Repair coaches welcome items such as lamps, vacuums, clocks, chairs, electrical items. small appliances, digital devices, clothing and textiles, dolls, stuffed animals, toys, jewelry, bicycles and tools that need sharpening. And for this event, we are also offering window screen repairs! Building Energy Efficiency & Clean Energy Workshop

Join Croton100 & CURE100 for a FREE workshop to learn about financial incentives for adoption of clean energy solutions offered by Federal agencies, New York State, and public utility programs. Free babysitting with sustainability focused activities will be provided for children over 3 years old. Experts from the Climate Reality Project- Westchester and Sustainable Westchester will explain how people can take advantage of financial rebates and other incentives to save money, improve health, increase comfort, and reduce their carbon footprint by installing heat pumps, adopting electric vehicles, using clean electricity from solar systems and utility providers, reducing energy use through energy efficiency tune-ups, including sealing building gaps and increasing insulation. Event organizers invite the Croton community and beyond to register for this event HERE.

Croton Friends of History: the Life of Clifford B. Harmon

Thursday, December 14th, 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm

Harmon, the New City In 1905, innovative real estate developer Clifford B. Harmon announced the purchase of the Van Cortlandt family farm, where he intended to build “Harmon, the New City, the most important and extensive suburban development in the history of New York.” Village Historian Marc Cheshire will tell the story of how Harmon bought, marketed and sold his “new city”, and his colorful life as a wealthy playboy and internationally famous aviator.

Croton Welcome Wagon Cookie Exchange

The Croton Welcome Wagon will host a Winter Cookie Exchange at the municipal building, on Friday, 12/15, from 5-7pm. Bring 2 dozen of your favorite cookies and a container to fill with cookies made by friends, both old and new. All Croton residents are welcome! We will also have warm drinks and a winter craft for kids. 


Citizen Preparedness Corps

The Citizen Preparedness Corps is a FREE training that provides an introduction to responding to a natural or human-caused disaster. Participants are advised on how to properly develop family emergency plans and stock up on emergency supplies.Trainings are led by the New York National Guard working with experts from the Division's Office of Emergency Management and Office of Fire Prevention and Control. Each family who attends will receive a free NYS Disaster Preparedness Kit containing examples of key items to assist individuals in the immediate aftermath of a disaster (registration required!) Register at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/CR121623

Naloxone (Narcan) Training

Monday, December 18th, 6:00pm - 8:00pm

New York State Senator Pete Harckham, Village of Croton-on-Hudson Mayor Brian Pugh, and the Croton Free Library invite you to learn how to save a life! Participants will learn how to recognize and respond to an opioid overdose and how to administer nasal naloxone (Narcan). This is a free training.
