Hudson River Arts & Crafts Festival

The Hudson River Fall Arts & Crafts Festival at Senasqua Park is a fun on-day arts & crafts show on the River on Saturday, Sept 3 (rain date is Sunday, Sept.4). Admission and parking are free, so come on down to the River, bring your friends and family, and enjoy our beautiful village park!
 
Birding Field Trip with Saw Mill River Audubon
Saturday, September 3 – 7 to 9 AM
Croton Point Park
 
Join Saw Mill River Audubon for a small-group, guided bird walk. Good for all levels of birding experience. Beginners very welcome! Walks are for adults and youth age 8 or older. Bennett Conservatory of Music Open House

Hudson River Day
Saturday, September 10 - 11 AM
Croton Yacht Club
 
A celebration of the Hudson River with events for children and adults, focusing on the history and ecology of the river. Free and open to the public.
- Free sailboat rides will be offered by Ferry Sloops.
- A youth fishing clinic and contest sponsored by the Hudson River Fisherman’s Association.
- Viewing tanks where local marine life can be identified and observed; hands-on exhibits for children local artist displays and sales.
- Food and beverages, including the best fish chowder on the Hudson.

Stuff the Truck Food Drive
Saturday, September 10 – 9:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Shop Rite of Croton
 
Croton Caring will be conducting a 'Stuff the Truck' food drive at ShopRite of Croton to collect food donations for those in need. Croton Caring is also seeking four volunteers to assist with restocking the Croton Caring Pantry immediately after the event. Tri-Municipal 9/11 Memorial Ceremony
Sunday, September 11 – 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM
9/11 Remembrance Memorial at Croton Landing
 
Please join the Village of Buchanan, the Town of Cortlandt, and the Village of Croton-on-Hudson in honoring the family, friends, and neighbors we lost on 9/11. This year’s Tri-Municipal 9/11 Memorial Ceremony will take place on Sunday, September 11, 2022 at the 9/11 Remembrance Memorial at Croton Landing, and will include a procession, a moment of silence, and a ringing of the bell in remembrance of our heroes. The program will commence at 1:00 PM.
 
Westchester Celebrate Aging Village Fair
Tuesday, September 13 – 10 AM to 2 PM
Mount Pleasant Community Center, 125 Lozza Drive, Valhalla
 
Come to the fair for movement, discussion, interactive learning and fun with inspired thinkers and doers from across Westchester County. Special featured activities include a community art project with clay or watercolors from ArtsWestchester for attendees to bring home, and the Understanding the Essentials of Your Smart Phone Presentation. The presentation will cover basic functionality of Android and Apple devices as well as safety, Wi-Fi, personalization, applications and consumer considerations. Safe Harbor Bereavement Group
Croton Free Library
Fridays 10 – 11 AM Starting September 9
 
Join experienced counselor Donna Rayburn for a weekly safe, non-judgemental group to discuss personal grief and loss. Participants will sign an agreement to keep everything discussed in the group private and confidential. No registration required. Free & open to all. Questions? Email gglazer@wlsmail.org. The group will meet every Friday for eight weeks.
 
Quiet Reading Hour at the Library
Thursdays 7 – 8 PM Starting September 8

Do you have trouble finding time and space to read? Every Thursday evening, the Croton Free Library will be hosting a Quiet Reading Hour complete with a designated quiet area at the back of the Library, a welcome kit with snacks and earplugs, and read any book of your choice. Free and open to all! BYO book, or check out something new right in the Library.
 
Croton Scarecrow Contest

DO YOU WANT TO BUILD A SCARECROW?  The Croton-on-Hudson Scarecrow Contest is back! The Hudson Valley Gateway Chamber of Commerce will decorate the Upper Village for Oktoberfest/Fall Festival on October 1. To learn more and sign up, click here.
