The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for the Westchester County region for Thursday, July 27. Air quality levels in outdoor are are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of Ground Level Ozone.

Residents can monitor local air quality conditions through the Village's Air Quality tracker, which reports real-time air quality data collected at sensors located at the Municipal Building and DPW Garage: https://www.crotononhudson-ny.gov/home/pages/air-quality-tracker. Additional information is available on DEC and on DOH websites.

N95 masks are available at the Municipal Building. Residents may pick up a mask in the main office (Room 24) during normal office hours.

A reminder that the Village of Croton-on-Hudson and Westchester County have enacted Anti-Idling Laws to prohibit the idling of vehicles for more than three consecutive minutes. Every minute of idling wastes fuel and affects the air quality of our area. Croton Police Officers will be issuing tickets to any vehicles found to be in violation of the law. Please do your part and not let your vehicle idle!
