Today is an Air Quality Alert Day!

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has issued an Air Quality Alert for the New York City Metro region for today, July 1. Air quality is forecast to gradually improve throughout the day.

The air quality is currently at levels considered unhealthy for Sensitive Groups. Residents can monitor local air quality conditions through the Village's Air Quality tracker, which reports real-time air quality data collected at sensors located at the Municipal Building and DPW Garage: https://www.crotononhudson-ny.gov/home/pages/air-quality-tracker. Additional information is available on DEC and on DOH websites.

A reminder that the Village of Croton-on-Hudson and Westchester County have enacted Anti-Idling Laws to prohibit the idling of vehicles for more than three consecutive minutes. Every minute of idling wastes fuel and affects the air quality of our area. Croton Police Officers will be issuing tickets to any vehicles found to be in violation of the law. Please do your part and not let your vehicle idle!
