Bird Commissioner Update

Bird Commissioner Cary Andrews has been busy receiving photos from many Croton residents of interesting birds they have encountered.
There are many ducks that overwinter in Croton area - such as the common merganser seen at Croton Landing and the Croton Reservoir, as well as a wood duck seen at Teatown Lake. Most have migrated north by now. These pictures were taken by LouAnn O'Hora.
Also pictured is a barred owl taken in Bernie Yozwiak's backyard. The winter migrants are leaving and the spring migrants coming in. Although this owl is year round, with bare branches can be easier to see.
