Narrative: 60 Control dispatched CFD to residential fire alarm. Patrols and CFD responded. Patrol reports alarm set off in error.

Narrative: CPD phone lines down  - no calls going out or being received on non-emergency lines. Phone company contacted. Hotline message broadcast. Patrols and police chief notified. Phone lines were restored at 8:23 a.m. on May 11.

Narrative: Caller reported his car ran out of gas while travelling on Route 9 south at the Senasqua Road exit. Patrol dispatched. Patrol located caller in a yellow 2006 Ford Focus bearing a New York license plate. Patrols provided a courtesy ride to the gas station.

Narrative: Caller reported two-car property damage auto accident with no injuries in the State Farm parking lot. Patrol dispatched. Report to be filed.

Narrative: Employee with Child Protective Service called stating she has an access order and wants patrol officer to help her perform a welfare check at a Cleveland Drive residence. Patrol dispatched with no answer at the door. Patrols checked location multiple times during the tour with negative results.

Narrative: Caller reported she needs an ambulance for her husband with congestive heart failure. Patrol dispatched. Aided transported by ambulance to the hospital.

Narrative: An impound request for a parking scofflaw at the Croton-Harmon train station was receive. Vehicle was a black 2018 Jeep Cherokee and was parked in space #434. Owner has eight open/unpaid tickets owing $340. Patrol dispatched and Luposello's responded. Court Clerk notified, as was the vehicle owner.

Narrative: Caller reported locking keys in her vehicle. Patrol dispatched for vehicle lockout. Patrol reported access gained.

Narrative: Caller reported being involved in an accident with a parked car on Maple Street and pulled over in Vassallo Park. Patrols dispatched. Patrol made contact with vehicle owner of the parked vehicle and notified that party.

Call Type: VTL Arrest
Narrative: Patrol reported stopping a white box truck with no visible plate, on Route 9 North, north of the Montrose exit for a V&T violation. Patrol ascertained that the operator had a suspended license and the plate which had been affixed to the front windshield was a NJ temporary tag which was not valid. The operator was able to produced a temporary registration for the vehicle. A&P Collision was notified and responded for the impound. The operator, a twenty-eight year old resident of Ridgewood, New York, was taken into custody without incident and charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operator in the 2nd Degree, Unlicensed Operator and Visibility Distorted.

Narrative: Village staff reported that an ice cream truck was operating within the village without a permit. Patrol dispatched and canvassed the area with negative results.

Call Type: Erratic Vehicle
Narrative: Caller reported a vehicle had been sitting at the intersection with a green light. She beeped her horn and then proceeded into the Shoprite Plaza. The other vehicle had also gone into Shoprite parking lot. When the caller parked, a male walked up to her vehicle, whom she believed was the operator of the other vehicle, and began to say something to her where he appeared impaired. She described the vehicle as a dark color Ford Explorer older model. Patrols responded and canvassed the area with negative results.

Narrative: Patrol reported a two-car accident with no injuries. Patrols to file a report.

Call Type: Parking Complaint
Narrative: Caller reported her neighbor parked their black Mercedes on Maple Street in front of her home and has not moved the vehicle since Sunday. Caller stated another neighbor told her that the family went out of town for a month. Parking Enforcement Officer dispatched and the vehicle was marked for 48 hour storage.

Narrative: Caller reported a yellow truck parked at corner of Grand Street and Mount Airy Road for several days. Parking Enforcement Officer dispatched and marked the vehicle for 48 hour storage.

Narrative: A copy of an arrest warrant was received from Westchester County Police Department. Subject of the warrant resides on Maple Street in the village. Warrant filed and placed in file. Officers to be on the lookout for wanted subject.

Call Type: Fraudulent Activities
Narrative: Resident of Cleveland Drive reported a fraudulent unemployment claim was filed but with a different last name and an address in Tarrytown, New York.  Resident reported she was notified by her employer of a potential fraudulent unemployment insurance claim. She further indicated that she did not apply for unemployment benefits as she was never unemployed. Blotter and paperwork forwarded to detectives.

Narrative: A local resident dropped off a black LG mobile phone which was found near the soccer fields at Croton Landing thirty minutes in the past.  The phone was checked for last calls received and the last incoming number was identified as the Croton Animal Hospital. The animal hospital indicated they believed the phone belonged to the woman they were trying to assist. Property returned to owner by patrols.

Narrative: Animal hospital staff requested a check of a woman with a black and white dog who seemed a bit confused. Caller indicates the woman is caucasian with blonde hair, about mid-forties and is wearing green pants. Patrols responded and interviewed the woman further. Contact was made to a friend who responded to pick up the woman and her dog. Patrols also reported the LG phone recovered earlier belonged to the woman who was subject of the welfare check. Patrols returned her mobile phone which was found in Croton Landing.

Narrative: 60 Control reported a disabled car on Route 9 South south of Senasqua Road area. Patrols responded and reported the vehicle is located on the Municipal Place on-ramp. Patrols reported the motorist has a tow responding to the location.

Narrative: Caller stated he is worried about his female friend's well-being after she sent a text indicating she may have been injured. Caller stated he and his friends pinged her cell phone to a location in Croton and they are in the area looking for her. Caller is requesting assistance to locate his friend. Patrols dispatched and reported locating the female on Old Post Road North. Patrols spoke with female who states she is fine and may have been a little intoxicated while sending the text message to her friends. Female assured patrols she is not the victim of a crime and is refusing any further assistance.

Narrative: Patrol reported stopping a white 2010 Ford F150 on Route 9 south before Municipal Place exit. Patrols confirmed that the vehicle was suspended and the operator was also suspended. A roadside arrest was conducted. The operator, a 41-year-old male from Newburgh, New York, was issued three summonses, Unlicensed Operator, Suspended Registration and Aggravated Unlicensed Operator in the 3rd Degree.

Narrative: Patrols reported stopping a red 1998 Ford Ranger for a traffic infraction. Patrols confirmed the vehicle registration was suspended for no insurance in effect. The operator, a 70-year-old male from Cortlandt Manor, was placed under arrest and the vehicle was impounded.

Narrative: Caller reported a coyote sighting on Brook Street and Terrace Place about midnight.

Narrative: Patrol issued a verbal warning to the operator of a blue 2019 Infiniti for idling in Croton Commons.

Narrative: Caller reported a piece of metal in the right lane of Route 9 South, south of Croton Point Avenue. Patrol responded and condition was corrected.

Call Type: VTL Arrest
Narrative: Patrol reported stopping a black 2019 Toyota for a license plate reader hit of a suspended registration, on Route 9 South and Croton Point Avenue. Patrols confirmed the operator had a suspended license and the registration was suspended for insurance lapse. The operator was taken into custody without incident and issued summonses for Aggravated Unlicensed Operator in the 3rd Degree, Suspended Registration and Uninsured Vehicle.

Call Type: Fraudulent Activities
Narrative: A resident of Observatory Drive reported that she was notified by the Village of Tarrytown that someone tried to file for unemployment insurance in her name. She is employed by the Warner Library in Tarrytown. She also said that someone tried to file a fraudulent unemployment insurance claim for her with the Field Library in Peekskill where she worked several years ago. Victim notified the Department of Labor. She also said the Tarrytown Police Department was notified and are investigating.

Narrative: Caller reported a navy blue Honda that exited the Hudson National Golf Club was speeding and passed him on the left side of the roadway racing down the hill. Patrols dispatched to area and reported the vehicle was gone from the area. Patrols to monitor location.

Narrative: 60 Control dispatched Croton EMS to a residence on Prospect Place for a teenager havind a seizure. Patrols responded to location with Croton EMS. Croton EMS reported aided refused assistance.

Narrative: Patrols reported coming upon a vehicle, a 2010 Nissan Altima, off the highway into a wooded area on Route 9 North north of Senasqua Road. Additional 911 call received reporting an accident. Patrols reported assisting driver away from the car. Patrols requested EMS as airbags were deployed in the vehicle. Nappy Towing notified and responded to recover the vehicle. Report to be filed.

Narrative: Resident of Brook Street reported his employer, Chappaqua Central School District, informed him someone filed for unemployment insurance with the NYS Department of Labor. He reported that he is fully employed and has never applied for unemployment benefits. Victim to take appropriate steps to protect his credit report and financial accounts.

Narrative: Caller reported leaving her vehicle unlocked and keys in plain sight in the permit section of train station lot. Vehicle is a two-door red Nissan Altima. Patrols located the vehicle which was unlocked. Patrols locked the vehicle and brought keys back to police headquarters. Caller advised of same; she will pick up keys this evening.

Narrative: Caller reported being approached by a tall, thin, white male wearing a baseball cap with "veteran" on it asking people for money near the Mobil quick stop. Patrols dispatched. Patrol located male in the Van Wyck Shopping Center. Patrol provided courtesy transport to a location in Montrose.

Narrative: Caller reported a motor vehicle accident in lot of the car wash; no injuries. Patrols dispatched and reported a black 2016 Dodge Ram pickup truck on scene; the other vehicle left scene of incident. Patrols responded to Crugers Avenue, Crugers, to follow up with owner/operator of vehicle that left scene. Report to be filed.

Narrative: 60 Control dispatched EMS to the Croton-Harmon Train Station Track 3 for an intoxicated party. While on call, MTA PD arrived on scene. Croton EMS responded.

Narrative: Alarm company reported an alarm activation in the court clerk’s office at the Municipal Building. Patrols checked location and the door was secured. Court employee responded to the police desk to report that the office was secure but she did not know how to shut the alarm off.

Narrative: Caller reported a vehicle in a handicapped space without a proper permit. Parking Enforcement Officer assigned. PEO reported the vehicle leaving the space upon arrival.

Call Type: Suspicious Incident
Narrative: Caller reported past customer from a prior incident keeps driving back and forth past his business on South Riverside Avenue. Caller concerned the subject will return when business is closed. Patrols advised and are to be on the lookout. Patrols also reported speaking with the subject operating the black Jeep and warning him not to go back to the business location on South Riverside Avenue.

Narrative: Caller reported a white Dodge Durango being operated erratically on Route 9 north approaching Croton at a high rate of speed. Patrols dispatched to highway. NYSP also contacted to be on the lookout for the vehicle. Patrols reported the vehicle was gone upon arrival.

Narrative: Caller reported an incident she believed to be suspicious. She indicated her son told her two men approached him in Duck Pond Park and asked him if he is Jewish. Caller indicates her son stated this has happened over the years and today this took place about 4:00 p.m. Caller said her son was also approached at Vassallo Park in the past as well. She will try to obtain additional details; her son is currently unavailable to provide further information.

Narrative: 60 Control dispatched CEMS for an EDP on a train on track 1 of the Croton-Harmon Train Station. 60 Control reported MTA PD was responding. Patrols responded and MTA PD on scene handling.

Narrative: Patrols in the parking lot of the Municipal Building from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for an obstacle course for the youths to participate for the PVC planned screen-free event.

Narrative: Caller reported he was just involved in a motor vehicle accident on Route 129 near the entrance to the Croton Dam. Patrol responded and confirmed the accident was out of the Village's jurisdiction. NYSP notified and responded to handle the accident. No reported injuries.

Narrative: Caller reported she locked her keys inside her car.  Patrol responded and gained entry to the vehicle involved without incident.

Narrative: Caller reported he was reading the police blotters online and noticed a blotter entry that was similar in nature to something that has been happening to him. He has not reported these incidents to the police in the past. Caller reported that his home is on top of a hill and he leaves his garbage cans by the small driveway close to the roadway. On at least five occasions, the last being May 13, 2021, he has discovered the garbage in his cans rummaged through. He had noticed that the plastic bags left inside have been torn open and none of the garbage has been left on the ground, but it does appear that some garbage is missing. He has left large stones on the cans thinking it was an animal but he would find the stone on the ground. Caller stated he does have cameras on his house but has not been able to see anything.

Narrative: Caller reported a dumpster fire. Patrol responded. 60 Control notified and responded. CFD personnel handling.  Fire extinguished.

Narrative: Caller reported a taxi cab almost hit him while traveling on Route 9 north in Ossining. The vehicle is heading to Croton. Patrol dispatched to check for the vehicle but it was gone upon arrival.

Narrative: Ossining PD notified patrols they had received a call from a Croton resident who reported she was involved in a domestic incident earlier today in their jurisdiction. The caller states they are back home in Croton at this time. The resident was contacted and confirmed the domestic incident between the caller and her boyfriend. Caller wanted the incident reported. Patrols responded and completed a DIR.

Narrative: Caller reported a dog has been barking continually since approximatel 11:30 p.m. The caller thinks the dog belongs to a residence on Old Post Road North. Patrols responded with a delay due to prior incident and canvassed the area with negative results.

Narrative: Caller reported a group of teens playing basketball and being loud in the court at Young Avenue and Benedict Blvd. Caller called back and stated he asked the group to stop and they left the location. Patrol responded and canvassed the area with negative results.

Call Type: Disabled Vehicle
Narrative: NYSP called to report a call from a male reporting his vehicle is disabled on Route 9 South near Croton Point Avenue. Patrols responded and found the vehicle involved, a black 2009 Toyota Camry. Nappy's towing was notified and responded for the tow. Owner/operator was given a courtesy transport to police headquarters until a ride arrived to pick him up.

Location: Farrington Road    
Call Type: Motor Vehicle Accident
Narrative: Caller reported he was traveling on an unknown road, possibly in Millwood, and a deer ran out in front of his vehicle. He struck the deer and then the metal guide rail on the right side of the roadway. He stated the airbags went off in the vehicle, but he continued to his residence on Farrington Road in Croton. Patrols responded and reported the vehicle involved is a 2020 Honda Civic with minor damage to the passenger side of the vehicle and the passenger side airbag curtain went off. EMS was notified and responded. Operator refused further medical attention. No accident report to be completed by this agency.

Narrative: Alarm company reported an activation at the above location for a garage door. Patrols dispatched to the location. The homeowner called and reported she is on scene and does not need police response. Alarm company called and also reported hearing from homeowner who requested response be cancelled. Patrol cancelled enroute.

Narrative: Patrols reported being flagged down by someone involved in an accident. Vehicles involved are a 2014 BMW and a 2014 Honda. Patrols to file a report.

Narrative: Dig Safely called to report emergency road work to repair a gas leak at 34 Mount Airy Road. Water Department notified and responding.

Narrative: 60 Control dispatched EMS to track 3 for a person having a seizure. Patrol reports MTA PD on scene. Aided transported to the hospital by EMS.
 
Special Note:
Buckle Up New York Mobilization 2021 begins on May 24th and ends June 6th. The Croton-on-Hudson Police Department will have additional patrols assigned to this detail for the two-week duration to educate vehicle occupants and enforce the applicable vehicle and traffic laws.
