Established in 2021, the Lorraine Hansberry Coalition of Croton (LHC) is a volunteer-driven group, dedicated to celebrating the life of acclaimed playwright, author, and activist Lorraine Hansberry and her connection with Croton-on-Hudson. The mission of the LHC is to honor and promote Hansberry’s legacy through community, school, and civic engagement, outreach programs, and educational events while shining a positive light on our village. We do this by creating innovative and inclusive opportunities that reflect the values and ideals by which Hansberry led her life.
