Croton's 38th Annual Summerfest kicks off Sunday, June 7, with the traditional parade at 12:45 PM, followed by a street festival featuring entertainment, food, and more than 120 vendors, many with family-fun activities. This year's parade grand marshal is Dennis Kooney, longtime Village resident and ex-commodore of the Croton Yacht Club.
There will be two stages featuring live music from One Good Deed and Brandi & the Alexanders. Games and activities will include face painting, sand art, a pie eating contest sponsored by Baked By Susan, and interactive tours of village fire trucks and construction vehicles. Food trucks and stalls will offer pizza, BBQ, empanadas, burgers, craft beverages, specialty desserts, Italian ice, and more. Community volunteer groups and service organizations will also be present to hand out information about their organizations and upcoming events.
Residents should note the following parking restrictions and traffic closures. Motorists are advised to plan ahead and use alternate routes to avoid delays:
From 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Grand Street from Old Post Road North to Mount Airy Road, Old Post Road North from Van Wyck Street to Grand Street, and Old Post Road South from Grand Street to Maple Street will be closed to all vehicular traffic. Additionally, from noon to 1:00 PM, Old Post Road South from Maple Street to Cleveland Drive will be closed for the Summerfest Parade.
