Maintenance Worker

The Village of Croton-on-Hudson is seeking qualified candidates for a Maintenance Worker (Repair) position. Under the direct supervision of the Assistant General Foreman and general supervision of the Superintendent of Public Works, this position performs a variety of semi-skilled maintenance and repair work involving carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and general building maintenance in public buildings and facilities.

The salary range for this position is $73,160 - $95,360, in accordance with the Teamsters contract currently in effect.

School Crossing Guard (Part Time)

The Village of Croton-on-Hudson is looking to hire one additional part-time School Crossing Guards for the 2026-2027 school year. The responsibility of the School Crossing Guard is to assist schoolchildren in crossing traffic intersections at an assigned post during the hours of 7:30 AM to 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM when children are entering and leaving school. Hours are subject to change due to school schedule. This position would report to the Police Department. 

Starting salary for this position is $20.00 - $23.00 per hour.

Required skills for the positions are as follows: Ability to work in all weather conditions, be able to stand for long periods of time, some knowledge of first aid; ability to be firm yet courteous with the public; ability to get along well with children; ability to think and act quickly in emergencies; good powers of observation and dependability.
